Nestled in the heart of Cornwall's famous Tregothnan Estate near Veryan is Gare Barn, a superb example of a spacious, reverse layout barn conversion with heaps of outside space and parking.

Gare Barn is located on a working farm surrounded by some of the county's loveliest countryside and is the epitome of peace and quiet. That said, just a couple of miles away is the pretty village of Ruan Lanihorne complete with village pub.  Three miles away is the pretty village of Tregony with convenience store, post office and another popular pub, The Kings Arms. Other villages including Probus and Tresillian are within a few miles of Gare Barn with each village still being able to boast a village shop, church and pub.

Getting to the coast is easy too with the quintessentially Cornish village of Portloe and its pretty harbour just 7 miles away. The National Trust owned Carne and Pendower dog friendly beaches near Veryan and Portloe are just 8 miles away!

The county's city, Truro, is just a 7 mile drive from Gare Barn.

Tregothnan is one of the largest private estates in Cornwall and is able to boast having the only tea plantation in Britain! Tregothnan tea is fast becoming one of the most popular independent tea brands in the country and you must try a cup or two whilst staying at Gare Barn.

July 2023

We loved Gare barn it was out in the middle of nowhere but that’s what we liked about it. Beds were so comfy and a very spacious barn. Dogs loved it and so much to do in cornwal. We loved the lost garden of heligan. Eden project and Trebah gardens all worth a visit. Lots of lovely little beaches

June 2023

Superb, my family thoroughly enjoyed the week we stayed, of course the weather was fantastic. Gare barn was in a lovely quiet yet accessible area with everything you would need. Spotlessly clean and comfortable throughout. Lovely walks with the dog around the farm, good easy parking, it was perfect. To top it all there was no collection of goodies, there was fresh flowers and the biggest freshly homemade Victoria sandwich cake which would rival any tearoom in the district! It was devoured by my family with tea in the garden, delicious after a long journey. The owners were very kind and friendly and we all would like to return again.

April 2023

This was our first visit to Cornwall as a family and have loved exploring the rugged landscape and local towns/villages............we'll be back!

September 2022

We had one of our best holidays staying at Gare Barn. We especially enjoyed the large living room/kitchen area on first floor. It's such a great set-up to relax after a day of activities. There is a fenced area just out the door where our dog played and rested while she wasn't exploring the farm fields and area. The host family was so pleasant and helpful. It was a treat to chat with them and learn a bit about the area and their farm. There was a such a quiet sense of calm in nature there that put us at ease. We were so pleased with the experience that we very much hope to have a return visit.

September 2022

Lovely place to stay, very quiet. Enjoyed our holiday despite the weather! Thanks very much for the cake.
