Perfectly situated in the heart of Cornwall with easy access to both sides of the County is Nutkins a two bedroom woodland cabin.  One of eight parkland cabins, Nutkins provides comfortable accommodation for a couple or family at a sensible price.  If you are looking for a larger property to accommodate more of you then please note we have Tiggywinkles (800) located next door which again has two bedrooms, take a look. The former County town of Bodmin is just 5 miles away and can offer a bustling high street with selection of supermarkets on the edge of the town. The Borough Arms pub in Dunmere serving food throughout the day and located on the Camel Trail is 4 miles by car. The world renowned Eden Project is a fifteen minute drive away with Cornish favourite National Trust property Lanhydrock also fifteen minutes by car. Glorious beaches to both the north and south coasts are an equal distance away from Nutkins and can be reached by car in less than half an hour.

From your designated parking space on the road to the front, a paved pathway leads up to the cabin. One step up under the covered walkway leads to the entrance door which in turn leads into the kitchen/diner (up one further step). Off the kitchen/diner is the double bedroom to the front. A small hallway with coat hooks separates the kitchen from the living room, family bathroom WC and twin bedroom. The living room is located at the front of the cabin with lovely views down across the park and surrounding woodland with an easy glide sliding door leading out onto the decked veranda with picnic bench.  The family bathroom WC has vinyl floring with bath, overhead Miras mixer shower and small wash basin. The living room and both bedrooms are carpeted with ample hanging and drawer space provided in the accommodation. This cabin is heated by wall mounted electric heating.

Outside there is ample open space (7 acres to be precise) at your disposal and a park children's play area to enjoy.  A small licensed shop stocked with local produce makes life a little easier with bicycle, body board and wet suit hire also available. Conveniently, there is a small laundry on the park with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryers. Please note that each cabin has its own washing line

Ruthern Valley is a bird watchers paradise with 49 species of bird having been identified at the park.  During the season in the adjoining field to the play park, children can assist the park owners with feeding the resident pigs and chickens.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
