Known as the antiques capital of Cornwall Lostwithiel is a convenient base from which to explore the County and Tiggywinkles is located in the heart of the town with easy access to the local shops, friendly pubs and river and play areas.

A surprisingly spacious stone cottage, Tiggywinkles provides charming, very comfortable and well-appointed self-catering accommodation for a couple or family. The property benefits from a number of lovely characteristics including internal feature stone walls, courtyard and secret garden along with a choice of either gas or solid fuel wood burner to compliment the central heating.

Entering the property from the street, five steps (with handrails) take you up to the front door.

Once inside you are struck immediately by the space available as the spacious lounge with Smart TV and comfortable easy seating greets you. Off the lounge is the large, light, airy and well equipped kitchen/diner with feature range cooker. Access from the kitchen out into the little courtyard with seating for two to enjoy morning coffee leads around the corner to the 'secret garden' which belongs to Tiggywinkles.

Upstairs are the two good size bedrooms. The double bedroom with television is at the rear of the property with the twin bedroom to the front. Both bedrooms have window seats, feature stone walls and provide ample drawer and hanging space between them. The family bathroom WC with bath, overhead shower, heated towel rail and wash hand basin completes the upstairs layout.

Unrestricted road parking is available to the front of the property. Lostwithiel can also boast its very own train station which is just a 5 minute walk from Tiggywinkles.

An easy walk into Lostwithiel's town centre where you can stroll through the Riverside Park and picnic by the water's edge with salmon and trout fishing (license may be required) available on the river and the historic Restormel Castle close by to explore. The river in Lostwithiel is a popular canoeist destination and the owners are more than happy to store canoes off site securely.

Further afield, Bodmin to the north and St Austell to the south are 6 and 10 miles respectively by car and offer a wider range of shopping facilities with the popular harbour villages of Fowey, Polperro, Looe and Mevagissey all within a 30 minute drive. For garden lovers the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are a 12 and 14 mile drive respectively. Cycle trails can be found at Cardinham and Lanhydrock.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
