Experience the area...
Sandytoes is located on the edge of Fowey a thriving waterside town with cottages lining the cobbled narrow streets, a bustling harbour and a great selection of independent shops in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Naturally being so close to the water fish features on many of the menus in the restaurants & pubs and there are plenty of bistros and cafes to enjoy a drink and watch the world go by.

For those wishing to get on the water there are many activities from the harbour with trips on board one of the pleasure boats that regularly depart from the Town Quay, take a guided tour of the river in a canoe or hire your own boat or take a stroll along the Esplanade passing the grand parade of Edwardian and Victorian houses to the medieval St Catherine's Castle and down to small beach at Readymoney Cove.

You will find an abundance of fantastic coastal and woodland walks including The Hall Walk and Covington woodland walk, with gardens nearby including the Headland garden across the water in Polruan, open May to August, the Eden Project outside St Austell  and the Lost Gardens of Heligan .

The ancient small town of Lostwithiel is a sixteen minute drive by car where you will find a number of antique shops, cafes and restaurants in the medieval backstreets and alleyways with wonderful views of the Fowey valley from the battlements of Restormel castle

If you are looking for beaches there are a number to explore all within a 30 minute drive at Polridmouth Cove, Lantic Bay and Lansallos beach with the popular harbour villages of PolperroCharlestown and Mevagissey 6, 16 and 22 miles respectively.

Located on Cornwall's south coast you will have plenty of things to see, visit and do with woodland, creeks and inlets to explore, towns and villages steeped in history, inventive and creative gardens and breathtaking costal scenery.

Stay the accommodation...
Sandytoes is a detached bungalow providing a haven from the bustling harbour of Fowey. Set back from a quiet country lane a shared tarmac drive leads up to the property with two wooden gates opening onto the level tarmacked parking area to the side of the property. Having parked your car a short walk and step up to the patio to the front will lead you to the front door with a further step opening into the spacious hallway.

The accommodation consists of an open plan kitchen/diner with a well-equipped kitchen and central island overlooking the sunny decked area and garden with a dining table and chairs. A bright and comfortable furnished sitting room is located off the kitchen/diner with comfortable sofas and a large window overlooking the front garden. There is a utility room located off the hallway with a door out to the rear decking.
 
There are three comfortably furnished bedrooms; a master bedroom with a super king bed, french doors with step out to the front patio and garden and an en-suite shower room W.C with built in cupboard, twin sinks and a walk-in shower with hand shower and jets. A double bedroom with a king size bed, storage and window overlooking the rear garden and a twin bedroom with 3ft singles, storage and a window overlooking the front garden. A family bathroom W.C, bath with hand shower and glass shower screen, basin and heated towel rail completes the accommodation.    
    
Sandytoes is double glazed with central heating and is mainly carpeted with vinyl flooring in the kitchen and utility room. The property has been furnished comfortably to create a relaxing environment for you and your pets.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
