With far reaching views across the Atlantic Ocean to Lundy Island on a clear day, this former scullery is now a self-contained single storey annexe set on a 200 acre family run working farm just one mile from Tintagel.

Set in the tiny hamlet of Halgabron, well placed for walkers and within easy reach of the dramatic coastline and its fine beaches, Ocean View offers a very convenient base from which to explore north and mid Cornwall.

Although from the outside Ocean View lacks the charm of the older buildings, the inside is pleasantly light and airy with lovely views of the sea and countryside from the patio and lounge area.

Approached from its own parking space, one step leads up to the double glazed patio doors which open directly into the cosy living room consisting of comfortable seating, a dining suite and fitted kitchen area.  Beyond the living room at the rear of the property is a bright and sunny double bedroom and a fully tiled bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath.

A small lawn and slate paved patio with a picnic table fronts the property on the seaward side making the most of the wonderful sea views over the farmland towards Long Rock.  A pet is welcome however as this is a working farm; dogs should be supervised at all times.

The area abounds with lovely walks across the fields to Bossiney Cove, down the hill to Rocky Valley, take the coastal path to Boscastle Harbourand Tintagel Castle, or through the woods to the mystical waterfall at St Nectans GlenClifden Farm is just a mile from Tintagel, famous for its association with the legend of King Arthur, and 3 miles from the picturesque harbour at Boscastle, both with a selection of local shops.

The nearest supermarket is in Camelford 5 miles away.  The immediate area is a haven for bird and wildlife enthusiasts and there are a wide choice of sandy beaches close by the nearest being Bossiney Cove, which has sand at low tide accessed via a fairly steep incline and the sandy surfing beach at Trebarwith Strandis less than a ten minute drive.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
