Set in an elevated position, nestled in the Towan Valley of Porthtowan and just a five minute walk to the beach! Munchkin Manor is a super two bedroom property with modern, open plan living, ample outside space and a dedicated parking space.

The stylish ground floor is open plan with a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, living and dining area with high quality furnishings. French doors lead out from the living space onto a spacious decked terrace with views down across the rooftops of Porthtowan. The family bathroom WC with bath, basin, separate shower cubicle and large heated towel rail is also on the ground floor.

Attractive wooden flooring runs throughout the ground floor. The property is centrally heated.

A wooden spiral staircase leads up to the two carpeted bedrooms;

The double bedroom with 4'6 bed has a wall mounted digital television and doors out onto a small balcony which is perfect for a quiet morning cuppa. The bright and cosy twin bedroom has two comfortable 3ft single beds.  There is a small landing at the top of the spiral staircase.

There is a dedicated parking space for one car on the road below the property. Access up to the property is via 25 steps.

The village of Porthtowan has an array of amenities and facilities to keep you entertained including two pubs both of which serve food throughout the day and evening, beach cafe, general store with post office, fish and chip shop and surf shop with board and wet suit hire for the more energetic.  The beach itself in Porthtowan is a blue flag beach with a seasonal (Easter - October) dog ban.

The pretty village of St Agnes is just 4 miles away with the town of Perranporth and its huge golden sand beach and the city of Truro with abundance of boutique and high street shops both 9 miles away. The popular surfing town of Newquay is just a half an hour from Porthtowan.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
