Less than a two minute walk from the picturesque harbour with a thriving fishing community and shops this traditional mid terraced fisherman's cottage arranged over two floors has spacious accommodation suitable for families and couples. The cottage is in an ideal position to explore MevagisseyCharlestown and the beaches and gardens on the South coast.

Entered from the street a step and glazed door lead into two carpeted reception rooms, a cosy sitting room with exposed beams and comfortable lounge seating arranged before a wood burning stove to one side and a large dining room with a central brick fireplace with wood burning stove, exposed beams, dining table and chairs in front of the window and a further comfortable sofa to the other.

In one corner of the dining room a step and door open into the fully fitted kitchen with plenty of storage, dishwasher, washing-machine and tumble-dryer with a vinyl floor, to the other side of the dining room a step takes you to the carpeted rear hall with a family bathroom - WC with bath, basin and heated towel rail, additional separate WC and a separate shower room with a step up into the glazed shower unit.

From the rear hall nine carpeted steps with handrail split at the top to a half landing off which are three light and comfortably furnished bedrooms all with views over St Andrews Church opposite, a double and a king bedroom both with storage and two steps down to a twin bedroom with storage under the beds.

From the half landing a further three carpeted steps lead to a double glazed door with step opening onto a small covered decking area with bistro table and chairs and chiminea. From here the decking continues round to the side with garden table and chairs and a fence separating the neighbours small decked area. The outside decking overlooks the countryside, houses and roof tops of Mevagissey and a car park.

Mevagissey has variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, many specialising in locally caught fish just a 2 minute stroll away. There are boat trips and a ferry to Fowey that leave from the harbour, and Portmellon, half a mile away, has a sand and shingle beach. Mevagissey is on the South West Coast path and The Coast & Clay Cycle Trail.

St Austell
is only 6 miles away offering a cinema, leisure centre, golf course and the famous St Austell Brewery. The beaches at Porthpean and Gorran Haven on the South coast are both within 5 miles. The Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached by footpath or a few minutes by car and the Eden project is a 20 minute drive.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
