Experience - The Area...

Located in the heart of Cornish village Trelights is Glendale, a refreshingly simple property providing clean and comfortable accommodation at a sensible price! Trelights itself is a short drive to visitor hotspots such as Port Isaac 1.9 miles, Polzeath 3.6 miles and Wadebridge 6.7 miles. In Trelights is the Longcross Hotel and Restaurant with stunning views serving great food and drink throughout the daytime and evening (open April to October, non residents welcome). Less than a mile from Trelights is the popular farm shop and restaurant at St Endellion where you can purchase locally produced meats, vegetables, cheeses and other great Cornish products as well as sitting down to a hearty Cornish breakfast, Sunday lunch or cream tea. The picturesque coastal hamlet of Port Quin is under two miles away with Lundy Bay 3 miles and Port Gaverne with its lovely hotel and pub less than 4 miles by car.

Stay - The Accommodation...

A traditional semi-detached Cornish cottage with some of its original charm and character retained. Entered via a handy outside porch with original slate flooring, the spacious cottage has a living room with ample easy seating to the right and separate large dining/breakfast room with kitchen and shower room WC off to the left. A small rear lobby separates the kitchen from the shower room and has a back door leading out into the lawn garden to the side and rear of the property. The shower room WC has a large shower cubicle with mixer shower and wash hand basin. A steep staircase with hand rail leads up to the two spacious bedrooms. Up two steps to the left is the triple bedroom with three full size single beds. Up two steps to the right is the spacious double bedroom with 4'6 bed and plenty of room for a cot.  Both bedrooms are carpeted and have ample hanging and drawer space between them.

The property is heated via oil fired central heating (available out of main season).

As well as the lawn garden to the side and rear of the property, an additional garden belonging to Glendale is located across the road and provides extra outside space to enjoy as well as off road parking (on grass) for a maximum of two cars.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
