Set in a small hamlet less than two miles from Veryan Bay with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, this delightful freshly renovated cottage in the middle of an L shaped group, is set to one side of a quiet country lane. Nestling in the beautiful Roseland Peninsula with an abundance of lovely walks that join up with the coastal footpath, Garden Cottage is reached by way of its own gated pretty front garden with 5 steps leading up to the entrance porch.

From here, a fully glazed door leads directly into a bright and sunny open-plan living room with rugs on the laminate wood floor and a soft cream decor. Lounge seating is arranged before an electric coal effect fire, there is a smartly fitted kitchen area and a circular dining suite set next to a door leading out to a service courtyard at the rear, bordered by rural fields.

Open tread carpeted stairs go directly up from the sitting room to a landing where there is a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath, and an attractive dual-aspect bedroom with a 5ft double bed; zip linked which can be separated into two 2ft 6in singles.  An additional single seater solid oak futon bed is available on request for use by pre-teens - bed size measures 76cm x 190cm.  

There are two modern electric radiators and an electric fire that provide enough warmth all year round and two off road parking spaces are located at one end of the group of cottages.

The lovely churchtown of Veryan, famous for its round houses is 1.5 miles and has a village store / P.O. and a traditional country pub offering food, and the south facing sandy beaches at Pendower and Carne are 2.5 miles. The picturesque cove and tiny harbour of Portloe is 2 miles and St Mawes is a 20 minute drive, home to one of Henry VIIIs best preserved coastal fortresses and where a regular passenger ferry operates to the maritime town of Falmouth.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
