Rooke Cottages are a group of seven very individual cottages set amidst a working farm belonging to His Royal Highness, The Duke of Cornwall, Prince Charles. Rooke Farm has been occupied and run by the Reskelly family since the early 1950's and they are used to the odd unannounced but nonetheless welcome visit from HRH himself!

The properties have been awarded a prestigious Five Star Gold self-catering rating from Visit England and there is no doubt that the service guests receive when they arrive at Rooke Farm including pre-arrival shopping service, meal delivery, complimentary robes, toiletries, unlimited logs for the wood burners and mid-week maid service meets the Five Star service requirement very well.

Whether you occupy one or all of the cottages at Rooke Farm you are assured a very warm welcome and will most likely become one of the very many guests that return to Rooke every year.

The most recent addition to Rooke Cottages is the Courtyard Cottage which has been tastefully renovated to offer comfortable, modern self-catering accommodation for the eight guests accommodated. Three of the four bedrooms have their own en suite and two with super king beds this property is certain to meet the larger family's needs. There is a mass of outdoor space to enjoy with an outdoor decked terrace to take in the glorious views.

The property is entered via a small hallway with wet room off. Access to the kitchen and bedrooms also from the hallway.

A stylish, well equipped kitchen/diner with feature range cooker and more conventional electric oven and hob cooking for those who prefer it! Off the kitchen is the comfortable light and airy living room with feature wood burner and French doors out onto the decked terrace. Just beyond the living room is a twin bedroom with WC and wash hand basin.

To the other side of the property is the remaining sleeping accommodation where you will find three further stylish and comfortable bedrooms which comprise of two super king and one twin and all with their own en suite.

Ample private parking and masses of outdoor space for rough and tumble!

Rooke Cottages is conveniently located just on the edge of the quaint village of Chapel Amble where the very popular Maltsters Arms pub and restaurant can be found.

The bustling town of Wadebridge is a ten minute drive from Rooke Cottages where you will find access onto the famous Camel bicycle trail as well as a selection of independent, quality shops and restaurants. Three supermarkets are located in Wadebridge along with the normal high street banks and Post Office.

The popular surfing and family sandy beach at Polzeath is just 6 miles by car from Rooke Cottages with the picturesque village of Port Isaac just 3 miles by car.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
