In the heart of the charming rural hamlet of Mount on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor this double glazed and centrally heated mid terraced cottage is perfectly situated for families, couples, walkers and cyclists wanting to explore rural and coastal Cornwall. Bandylegs, named after the owners 21 year old cat, has been lovingly restored maintaining the traditional character but incorporating a contemporary feel to provide a home from home for guests.


A gravelled parking bay adjacent to the lane and cottage provides private parking for one car. Opposite the parking bay and across from the country lane Bandylegs is accessed via a double glazed front door opening into a light and cosy open plan living space with exposed beams and slate flooring bisected by a traditional carpeted staircase. Set to one side of the staircase is a comfortable sofa and easy chair arranged before a wood burning stove with exposed stonework and wall mounted tv, to the other side is a further smaller sofa with a round table and 4 chairs.


A neatly fitted kitchen with breakfast bar built in slimline dishwasher and fridge, oven with grill and 4 ring gas hob with extractor and a small utility area with freezer, washing machine and door to the south facing rear garden completes the ground floor accommodation.


Ten carpeted steps from the narrow staircase with handrail, leads up to the first floor dividing at the top to the left and right. A step to the right takes you into a comfortable carpeted double bedroom with duel aspect, panelled wall and ceiling and built in storage. A step to the left leads to the family bathroom W.C, bath with shower over, basin and heated towel rail. A second carpeted cosy double bedroom with built in storage completes the accommodation upstairs. 

Accessed from a double glazed door off the utility area is an enclosed south facing garden with slate chippings, an outside table with parasol and outside lockable garden shed

Bodmin moor on your doorstep provides an abundance of good walks with woodland trails and cycle routes for all ages at nearbyLanhydrock and Cardinham, 6 miles by car. Siblyback Lake a twenty minute drive has a range of water and land activities with Colliford lake only a thirteen minute drive providing traditional fly fishing. Equidistant from the North & South Coast boasting some of Cornwall's most dramatic coastline and best beaches with the popular fishing villages of Port Isaac and Looe a 15 mile drive.   


The nearby village of St Neot, approximately 2.5 miles, offers a local shop and a pub and one of Cornwall's oldest towns, Bodmin, approximately a 10 minute drive, offers shopping facilities, pub/restaurants, leisure centre and a mainline railway station on the outskirts.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests returning for a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price
