This 18th century Cornish cottage has been sympathetically refurbished over recent years to provide comfortable holiday accommodation whilst successfully maintaining some of the cottages original charm.  Admiral Cottage is located in the upper part of Boscastle just opposite the Napoleon Inn and Bottreaux restaurant.  A few minutes walk downhill into historic Boscastle with its natural harbour, you will find an array of interesting shops, award winning Visitor Centre and further eateries including the Wellington Hotel with traditional pub and fine dining restaurant and the 17th century Cobweb Inn at your disposal.

The property can be entered conveniently from the back where the parking for one car is or from the front (High Street).  Entering from the front of the property you will find the three bedrooms and family bathroom WC to the ground floor off the hallway.  The three bedrooms comprise of a double bedroom and twin bedroom to the front and a bunk bedroom to the rear.  The family bathroom WC has a bath, overhead electric shower, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

Heading up the stairs you will find the open plan living and dining room with original beams and comfortable easy seating for the five guests accommodated.  Off the dining room is the spacious and well-appointed kitchen with all the usual appliances for your convenience.  A door leads out from the kitchen to the small lawn garden and access to the parking space at the rear of the property for one medium size car.

Once you have explored Boscastle then other places of interest close by include Tintagel and its castle ruins, the sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand and the quaint Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac made famous by the Doc Martin television series and Fisherman's Friends singing group.

Please note;

This property welcomes 2 dogs.

Towels are available at £5 per person per week.

The property is marketed for five people only so comfort levels are not compromised.

Sleeps
Close
When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.
Customer Rating
Close
Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets
Close
There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £24 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 895 354 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks
Close
There are few better places to take a short break than in Cornwall. They can frequently be arranged, mainly out of season though, for periods to suit guest's particular requirements, but there is always a minimum rental, for practical reasons.

Cornwall in the early Spring is usually blessed with fine warm weather. It is this climate which brings out the wild flowers and spectacular gardens which make this time of year such an ideal one for a holiday. During July and August and other busy times of the year short break holidays are normally only available at short notice, but please enquire and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If short breaks are available, the cost of a short break is calculated as follows:
3 nights: 70% of weekly rental price
4 nights: 80% of weekly rental price
5 nights: 90% of weekly rental price
6 nights: 100% of weekly rental price

Reservations

Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) can only be 'Reserved' (ie they cannot be booked) at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name on a first come first served basis until availability and pricing has been agreed.

It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
