The sky at night…… or not

Velux windows are a wonderful thing as they allow guests to stargaze at night, however, if they are sited in the bedroom, there may be guests that would prefer the option of a blackout blind to aid a good night’s sleep.

This was the case for the owners of Swallow Barn and being a pro-active couple; they do not rest on their laurels but look for a reasonable solution however hard to reach the skylight windows may be.

And that is how they came to install solar powered, remote controlled blinds – the installation process does not involve wiring 17or tracking the walls for mains electric and the owner had two velux blinds fitted within an afternoon.

Supplied by Bloc Blinds, the motorised skylight blind features an integrated solar panel which harnesses the sun’s energy and keeps the built in battery charged and a remote controlled handset allows operation of the blind with ease.
