With lovely views extending over rooftops, out to sea and across Mounts Bay, this detached, older style, double fronted bungalow is set in a grassy informal garden about 300 yards from the mile long beach at Praa Sands, midway between Penzance and Helston.

The sandy beach can be reached on foot in a couple of minutes and is popular for bathing, has good surf and there are rock pools at each end of the beach.

There is a pub/restaurant, surfboard hire and general store close by, as well as Praa Sands 9 hole golf course overlooking the sea. For a wider selection of facilities, Marazion, Penzance, Porthleven and Helston are all within a 15 minute drive. There are lovely walks along the South West Coastal Path to the famous Prussia Cove and the rocky NT headlands of Cudden Point and Rinsey Head.

Entrance

Approached from a short open drive with off road parking available for two cars, half a dozen railed steps lead up to the glazed entrance doors which open into a small integral lobby with coats area.

Living Room

The accommodation consists of a bright and spacious living room with television, comfortable leather seating, a dining suite and fine sea views looking over the hedged front garden from a large bay window.

Bedrooms

Leading off to one side is a small inner hallway giving access to two bedrooms, a double enjoying views of the sea and a twin bedded room with garden views to the rear.

Bathroom

To the rear of the bungalow, also accessed from the living room, is a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath.

Kitchen

A fitted kitchen and an adjacent porch with laundry facilities. Kitchen/utility appliances include dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and washing machine.

Heating

This property is efficiently heated via central heating.

Five railed steps lead up to the fully enclosed rear garden which has a sunny patio area, a level lawn and gates to both the front drive and a back lane providing a short cut to the village shop. There is a useful outbuilding available for storage of beachgear. Garden furniture and barbecue provided.

Set on the sparkling shores of Mount’s Bay in south west Cornwall, halfway between Penzance and the Lizard Peninsula, Praa Sands is a charming coastal village with a spectacular mile-long beach on its doorstep.

If you’re dreaming of a proper Cornish beach holiday, Praa Sands more than fits the bill. Although the stunning white sand, bright turquoise waters and lush grassy sand dunes make Praa Sands look almost tropical, the relaxed, beachy pace of life here is typically Cornish. With ample space for sandcastles and beach games, lots of rockpools, lifeguard cover and beachside facilities, it’s perfect for family holidays, while also offering some of the best surfing conditions on Cornwall’s south coast.

No beach break is complete without fish and chips, ice creams and sunset drinks watching the waves, and your holiday in Praa Sands will be no different thanks to its handful of pubs, shops and eateries. Make sure to visit the aptly-named Sandbar, right on the edge of the beach and a lovely spot for dinner whilst watching the sunset over the sea.

From Praa Sands, you can join the South West Coast Path and enjoy beautiful coastal walks, discovering many hidden beaches and sheltered coves, including the idyllic and unspoilt Rinsey Cove to the east and Prussia Cove to the west.

Away from the beach, Praa Sands village has lots to keep you occupied, from rounds of golf at the golf club to ghost hunting! Pengersick Castle is said to be haunted by over 20 ghosts, the most commonly sighted being the apparition of a monk, and, if you’re feeling brave, there are regular ghost hunting tours. Thanks to its many hidden inlets, this stretch of Cornwall was infamous for its smuggling, and Praa Sands is said to be the birthplace of the notorious smuggler, John Carter, the King of Prussia.

Sure to be one of your favourite things about your holiday in Praa Sands is that several of West Cornwall’s most famous attractions can be reached within a coastal walk or easy drive. Visit St Micheal’s Mount, a fairytale-esque castle on a tidal island off the shores of Marazion, Mousehole’s perfectly pretty harbour and famous Christmas light display, and the ancient streets of Penzance. Travel to St Ives and explore the cobbled streets and many art galleries and take time to discover the Lizard Peninsula’s stunning coves and ancient fishing villages.

April 2019

Nice location with beautiful view of the sea and clear surroundings. Summertime dogs not allowed on beach 7am - 7pm, but nice big park there. Ideal for a couple or adults with kids. Rear garden also useful for dogs and kids. For relaxation this is ideal and a quiet property. Bus stop just outside is an advantage too. No noise at all.
