The Wink pub and The Cove Cornwall for restaurant dining open to non-residents are both just a couple of minutes walk away, and a leisurely 10 minute stroll down the hill leads to the famous cove where there is a small sandy beach at low tide adjacent to the harbour and a seasonal gift shop/beach cafe.

St Buryan, 3 miles, has a church, village store/P.O, pub and garage, and for a wider selection of amenities, the seaside town of Penzance is about a 15 minute drive with a ferry service to the Isles of Scilly. There are stunning cliff walks nearby both east and west, particularly the ten mile stretch from Lamorna to Lands End with numerous ancient sites to explore. Mousehole, Newlyn, the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, Porthgwarra, Nanjizal, Sennen Cove and St Ives are all within easy reach.

A renovated property with double glazing and centrally heated to provide warm and cosy accommodation all year round, it is a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts only half a mile from the beautiful cliff path and rugged coastline. This is formerly the studio of Denys Law, who was a painter, woodcarver and copper worker recognised by the Lamorna Society.

A short sloping path and one step leads up to the stable front door which opens directly into a delightful, split level living room. There is a fully fitted smart kitchen with a small dining suite, and two steps lead up to the comfortable sitting area with a rug on the laminate wood floor and a comfy sofa facing the electric coal effect stove. Kitchen appliances include fridge, electric hob and oven and microwave.

A further door opens to the double bedroom with a fully tiled en-suite shower room W.C. with tiled floor, hand basin and wide shower cubicle.

Nantewas has a small decked terrace with picnic table, pets will require supervision outside as area not enclosed.

There is space outside for one small or medium size car on a gravelled parking area adjacent to the property.

The choice and quality of food at 2 Fore Street never disappoints . The service is generally delightful and ambience relaxing. It is pricier but worth it.

A historic pub with good service and selection of drinks. Always busy and lively, and full of dogs. Efficient service and mostly friendly . Unfortunately our meal, on two occasions, has been a disappointment with all our choices not available, even at just 6.30pm, and one alternative offered totally over microwaved . Lesson learnt

March 2024

We were made welcome in both the restaurant and bar and enjoyed a really good meal here one mid week evening. Bar staff friendly and waiter service excellent. Table was reserved and we were not rushed. We had 4 different meals and desserts in our party and enjoyed all of them. Gluten free and vegetarian meals were available for 2 of us. Board games available in bar for visitors. Great view of harbour entrance. We recommend a visit.

Jubilee Pool
(4 miles)

(2)

First opened in 1935, the Jubilee Pool was created as a celebration of King George V’s Silver Jubilee. The pool is the largest and most celebrated sea pool in the UK, built into a triangular shape it withstands the ferocity of the Cornish seas while still being a very pleasant environment to bathe in. It contains about 5 million litres of sea water and no mechanical filtration and minimal chemical treatment making it a natural sea water bathing experience. The quality of the water is carefully maintained and water is replaced regullary, timed carefully with the outgoing and incoming tides. A wristband needs to be purchased to swim in the pool, adults are £5, under 16s are £3.50, and under 4s go free.

Visiting the geothermal pool is a wonderful experience and far warmer than imagined. It was worth the chill of changing and dressing. The environment is clean and well maintained in spite of its age, which only adds to the ambience, The warmth of the cafe is a pleasure after a swim and it offers high quality food and friendly service.

Amazing! Make sure you get the combo ticket for maximum enjoyment, but make sure you go into the cold pool first!

Visited here to watch Seth Lakeman twice over his 4 concert weekend. We had a fantastic time - both concerts were excellent made all the more amazing by the Minack Theatre and it's beautiful surroundings. The Minack is a fantastic venue for music events, we have been to quite a few concerts there and always had a good time. The Minack staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Parking is excellent, again with very friendly helpful staff. Furthermore, the gardens at the Minack are stunning and are well worth a visit.

September 2023

Walked to Lamorna Cove from Castallack - it was a very nice walk on a lovely and sunny Sunday morning. The cove was very quiet and peaceful, not many visitors around. We sat and enjoyed the view and had an ice-cream from the local cafe; the staff in the cafe were so friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Mousehole is a delightful village. Beautiful scenery and walks, with some interesting shops and places to eat and drink. We ate very well at The Mousehole Deli and Kitchen on the seafront, which has an interesting menu, good coffee, and lovely staff. Bought great gifts at the weekly Craft Market too. Parking in Mousehole is quite limited!

September 2023

We loved Mousehole! It has real character and we could walk there from our cottage. We swam there twice and the water was wonderful. We also enjoyed pasties, coffee and cake in the village. We would definitely go back there again.

Beautiful, quaint Mousehole, one of our favourite places. Had a lovely stroll around the harbour and village and visited most of the gift shops. Sat for a while in the lovely harbour, so peaceful and quiet.

Porthcurno is located in the far West of Cornwall and has been described by many as a paradise and it’s not hard to see why. With its soft white sand beaches, turquoise sea which gleams in the summer sun and the high cliffs on either side of the beach providing shelter, it is described as an oasis of stunning natural beauty. On the west side of the beach is the famous Minack Theatre and to either side of the beach you will find coastal paths that provide the most breath-taking views.  Dogs are welcome on the beach expect between 1 May and 30 September when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Parking can be found just behind the beach.

What a lovely beach. Golden/white sands. Beautiful clear waters. On a calm day great for paddle boarding, swimming and paddling. The beach does drop away quickly and gets deep. We have been when it is wavy too but feels safe with the lifeguards there during high season. Parking can get very busy so I suggest you get there early in the day if you want a space closer to the beach, there are some disabled bays. The spaces are small and if you have a big car I suggest you reverse in so it is easier to get out at the end of a busy day on the beach. There are 3 routes down to the beach. From the Minack which is steep and rocky with lovely views. A path from the car park which is a little uneven and down a slope. My mother managed to get her mobility scooter down this and the lovely Lifeguards let her leave it at the Lifeguard station. There are also some steps down to the beach at the Lifeguards hut.

Absolutely wonderful. Try going when it's empty!

September 2023

This is the second year we have stayed here and we will come again and would recommend this studio to anyone. We came in a short heat wave and the studio being sheltered by trees was very cool and relaxing so we had no problems sleeping. We like the cottage very much it has everything we require in a beautiful quite valley . We walked to Lamorna cove every day for a swim and walks. we drove to other beaches and Penzance, Minack theatre and Mousehole, this studio is perfect for this area of Cornwall it has even got a nice pub across the road, also a takeaway Thai food van near by on the road to Lands End.

August 2021

July 2021

Great location for access to the cove, steep hill yes, but well worth it for a wander down.

September 2020

We found Nantewas Studio to be the perfect place to stay to enjoy the area, We have been coming to Cornwall for 30+ years and we found some fantastic places we had not previously visited. Zennor was really nice in particular. The whole area is simply beautiful and the sun sets on the west coast were amazing. I particularly liked the studio location in a beautiful wooded valley, and being Mid September the Trees were just starting to drop their leaves and aroma was simply fantastic. As a holiday this has been one of best ever in Cornwall. Our Rescue Jack Russell had a fabulous time walking all over the place, and he made it to the top of Cape Cornwall with ease !!. I would recommend this area of Cornwall to anyone who is looking for a Great holiday and is looking to see some amazing scenery !!. Lands, End, Sennen, Zennor, Porthgwarra, ( really nice walk up to the top to see the Look out post etc) Due to the Covid 19 we wanted a place that we would be safe in and it is so quiet in this area we felt totally safe. Thank-you for a Fantastic Holiday. Corncott Customer services are excellent too !!!. You will be hearing from us again soon !!
