Description

Experience - The Area...

Set in the middle of the farming hamlet of Brane, this detached farmhouse stands in a huddle of farm buildings at the end of a long and winding country lane, within fifteen minutes drive of the lovely surfing beach at Sennen Cove.

The area abounds with footpaths and Carn Euny, an impressive iron age settlement, is a 15 minute walk. A personal perspective by the owner's niece can be found on her online newspaper.

The beach at Sennen Cove is about 6 miles, as is the attractive town of Penzance with an extensive range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Lands End, the picturesque harbour village of Mousehole and the Minack open air theatre are all within a 30 minute drive, and there is fly fishing for trout at the nearby Drift reservoir.

Stay - The Accommodation...

The house is entered through a small porch with coat pegs into an inner hallway and an adjacent utility room with a larder cupboard and belfast sink. To one side, a door opens to a large open-plan L shaped kitchen/dining room with fitted units, a tiled floor and an adjoining day sitting room. At the far side, a door leads through to a central hallway with a cloakroom W.C. and hand basin, and a light and airy sitting room with a big open fireplace and a small reading/study area.

On the first floor are four bedrooms, a bathroom W.C. with vanity basin and bath with hand shower attachment, and a shower room W.C. with hand basin. The master double bedroom has triple aspect windows with sea views on the horizon and a walk-in dressing/cot room, and there are three simply furnished twin bedded rooms, one with 2ft 6in bed.

There is on-site parking for at least three cars, and the informal garden is divided into four separate areas, with a level lawn sheltered on three sides by old stable buildings, a small grassy garden enclosed by a low wall and reached by a granite stile, a fenced area of private lawn and a gated shrub garden with a fish pond.

The gardens are not suitable for toddlers or totally secure for pets which must be under control in this working dairy farming region.

Don't forget...

- Bed linen is available at £5 per person, per week payable on arrival
- Towels available at £5 per person, per week payable on arrival
- Under Occupancy discount available for parties of 4 or less
- This property welcomes a maximum of three dogs

Guestbook

Comfortable and homely. We very much enjoyed our stay. - Mr & Mrs N Papuca
"Brane End is home away from home, full of character, beauty, history, culture and love. I would recommend it, but then I do not always want it to be fully booked." Mr T Reynolds
"Property was spacious. Everything we needed and in an excellent rural setting. We are a bunch of amateur astronomers and enjoyed the dark skies and the Milky Way was so bright. No light pollution, fantastic." Mr A Atterbury
"A rurally situated house providing spacious and comfortable accommodation. No downstairs bedrooms so not for anyone with mobility problems but great for larger family groups or friends. A 'lived-in' house where you can relax away from the main tourist areas. Great support from Linda the local contact." Miss D Cook
"We have spent four consecutive happy easters in this farm house." Mrs I Cooksey
