Description

Experience - The Area...

With uninterrupted views of the sea across Mounts Bay to the Lizard, this light and comfortable property is the entire upper level of a detached house set back from the road leading into the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole, only 200 yards from the harbour and local amenities.

The village is less than five minutes walk with a selection of small shops, restaurants and pubs and directly opposite the cottage is a public footpath with steps leading down to the rockpools below with a stoney beach and children's sea water bathing pool revealed at low tide. Newlyn and Marazion are only a short drive and can be reached by hoppa bus if preferred, and Penzance, 3 miles, is the gateway to the Isles of Scilly.

Stay - The Accommodation...

Entered from the shared driveway where there is parking for one car, a sloping lane leads up to the front door which opens beneath a covered porch into an entrance hallway with a coats area. To the left is a spacious kingsize double bedroom with lovely sea views, an adjacent bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath, and to the right of the hall a door leads through to a smartly fitted kitchen with New England style units and a breakfast bar with high stools. On the far side is a light and airy twin bedded room with dual aspect windows overlooking the sea and coastline.

From the breakfast area, two steps lead down to a bright and sunny living room with stripped wood flooring, an exposed granite wall, comfortable seating and a pine dining suite, all of which have panoramic views of the sea and St Michaels Mount from five large windows. In one corner of the room, a glazed door opens out to a small timber balcony with balustrade and glorious sea views.

Perfect apartment, perfect setting. - Mr L Ellaby
"Excellent location, beautiful view from lounge and on site parking, which is a bonus. We will be back!" Mr P Henshaw
"We so much enjoyed our stay again this year, even though it snowed and the temperatures were subzero most of the time it was still warm and cosy. With Carveth situated just a few yards from the water's edge, the clear, unobstructed panoramic sea and harbour views are breathtaking in all weathers, we saw seals very close, gannets diving to catch fish and waves crashing on the rocks below. We love the decorations which are so tasteful and relaxing. It is extremely quiet and peaceful in this property, the facilities are also excellent, including comfortable beds, relaxing seating and with everything and more than one requires for a really good holiday." Mr J Callard
"Carveth is an unchanging slice of delight and comfort." Mrs D Hancock
"Thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break here despite the weather. All the comforts of home were here. The views fantastic." Mrs I Edwards
"Our favourite holiday property in Cornwall. Warm, clean and comfortable." Mrs D Hancock
"This cottage is delightful, cosy, fitted out in a thoughtful way, it makes you feel at home immediately. The views across to St Michaels Mount are breathtaking and sea-watching in all-weather conditions was so restful." Mrs Esam
"It is a great pleasure to come back to this property. Wonderful sea view and after many visits the only Cornish location we would ever consider." Mr M Green
"Location, location, location. Our second visit to Carveth, comfortable homely accommodation with stunning views. We love it." Mrs B Picknell
"On your first morning when you see The Scillonian sail through the morning sunlight as you eat your breakfast, you know that Carveth is special." Mr S Phillips
"Carveth is a great holiday apartment. On a sloping site facing straight out to sea, the accommodation offers the best of all world's with ground floor access at the rear and elevated first story views at the front and sides. We found the apartment well-furnished and fitted out, the whole apartment was spotlessly clean with good TV reception and fast WI-FI. We would not hesitate to recommend Carveth and the tiny village of Mousehole as a superb holiday package and will definitely do our very best to return next summer for another holiday. There are some great coastal walks and an easy stroll into Penzanze via the fishing port of Newlyn." Mr L Ellaby
"We have been staying in holiday cottages since the 1980's and Carveth is the best. Great view, location, accommodation and owners." Mr R Davidson
"Ideal location for touring South Cornwall, local pubs serving good local food and real ales. Fantastic views overlooking the sea. Well equipped for self-catering, highly recommend. " Mrs E Carpenter
"Best property that we have stayed in. Convenient and comfortable with fantastic views. We will definitely return to this property." Mr & Mrs G Busby
"We have holiday'd at this cottage on every visit we have made to Cornwall. The accommodation - comfortable and welcoming. The views across the bay - fantastic as described by our ten year old grandaughter. A great holiday location." Mr M Green
"It is just lovely and the weather too. I absolutely recommend this." Dr C Enzensperger
"A very good aspect with stunning views. Comfortable and clean." Mrs B Burton
"An ideal location for accessing nearby facilites and for touring further afield." Mr D Haynes
