Experience - The Area...
Located in one of the prettiest parts of the County on the edge of Gweek village and within a short drive of The Lizard and Coverack is a super property called Helford Hideaway. Forming part of the original Tolvan Farmhouse, Helford Hideaway has been lovingly and sympathetically refurbished providing a comfortable and cosy holiday base for two people. Once you have tired from exploring the surrounding fields and bluebell woodlands belonging to this working farm, the nearby village of Gweek (home to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary) has a well-stocked post office village store, popular pub serving food all day which hosts various events throughout the year and recently reopened Cornish tearooms located down in the boatyard.
Boat lovers will be delighted to learn that one of Daphne du Maurier's favourite Cornish spots (her honeymoon destination in fact), the Helford River is less than a 20 minute drive away.
Within 10 miles of Gweek are two must see iconic Cornish locations - Coverack and The Lizard. The bustling town of Helston with supermarkets and high street is a ten minute drive. The maritime town of Falmouth is just 12 miles from Gweek with a generous selection of quality restaurants and eateries to choose between as well as antique shops, art galleries and museums to browse around. The lovely beaches at Porthleven (sand) and Porthallow (shingle) are an 8 and 10 mile drive respectively.
