Experience - The Area...
Located in the village of St Issey on the Padstow road this charming detached period holiday home is a perfect base for a leisurely or action packed holiday. St Issey is just a few miles from Padstow and is a pretty hamlet close to the creeks of the Camel Estuary with the Ring O'Bells pub, known locally as The Ringers, only a short walk from Hillside. Enjoy some lovely countryside walks from the property, including a stretch of the Saints Way.
The bustling town of Wadebridge is just an eight minute drive set on the banks of the Camel Estuary. The town offers a variety of small, independently owned shops and eateries as well as two screen cinema and larger supermarkets on the outskirts of the town. If you enjoy cycling Wadebridge sits on the Camel Trail with two picturesque 6 mile rides, one to Padstow along the river on one side and through the countryside to Bodmin on the other side.
The popular harbour town of Padstow, four miles from Hillside, offers a variety of pubs and restaurants including Paul Ainsworth & Rick Stein as well as local eateries. If you enjoy walking you can pick up the South West Coast path stopping off at a number of beaches along the way. The traditional fishing village of Port Isaac, 12 miles, is home to the TV series Doc Martin staring Martin Clunes where you will find narrow winding alleys, cobbled streets, local galleries and a village full of atmosphere in the summer. You can also see the fishermen coming back from sea and can even buy the catch of the day.
North Cornwall boasts some of Cornwalls best beaches with dog friendly Daymer Bay only a 20 minute drive offering parking and a lovely coastal walk round to Polzeath. Polzeath a 20 minute drive is a sanctuary for surfers and is lifeguarded during the season. Polzeath has a selection of local shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants and of course somewhere to get an ice-cream to enjoy on the beach.
Stay - The Accommodation...
Set back from the A389 is a gravelled drive with parking for two cars. From here nine steps with a handrail take you up to the front door opening into a smart inner hallway with vinyl wood effect flooring and handy WC with slate flooring and wash hand basin. Off the hallway a door opens into a stylish, carpeted living room with comfy easy seating and Freeview television (wood burner NOT included.)
Off the living room is the beautifully presented kitchen with separate dining area. Exposed pine flooring to the dining area and slate flooring to the kitchen. A small step up into the kitchen from the dining area. Granite work surfaces adorn the kitchen with gorgeous oak kitchen cabinets combined with numerous appliances including dishwasher, electric range cooker with two ovens and coffee machine for your added comfort. A stable door leads out from the kitchen into the lawn and gravel garden, a real sun trap with plenty of garden furniture provided.
From the living room there are two steep, carpeted stairs leading down to the lower ground floor and first floor bedrooms. On the lower ground floor you will find a twin bedroom, a double bedrrom with a 5ft king and a spacious family bathroom WC with bath and handheld shower attachment, generously sized shower cubicle, basin and heated towel rail. Wood effect vinyl flooring.
On the first floor you will find one double with a 4'6 bed and one king bedroom both with en-suites. One ensuite has a shower WC with basin, slate floor and heated towel rail. The second is with bath, handheld shower attachment, basin, slate floor and heated towel rail. There is ample hanging and drawer space across the four bedrooms.
The garden is primarily enclosed by fencing and a gate, the remainder of the garden has shrubs and trees acting as fencing. Please ensure that dogs are supervised when out in the garden as neighbouring fields will occasionally have livestock in them.
The owners of Hillside have put their heart and soul into providing comfortable accommodation for your holiday and the extra touches throughout including bespoke, locally made oak doors and refurbished sash windows can not but fail to impress.
