Regrettably the pub is under new management and food was disappointing- as was the ‘local’s’ discount on drinks which was in effect a holiday makers ‘tax’ and hiked the price of our round (pint of cider and a white wine) from £10.35 to £11,70!! Bad business planning given that the establishment relies heavily on non local trade- prices considerably highly that other venues

The Merrymoor Inn
(2 miles)

(7)

For three generations of our family we have been creating dishes from the land & sea of Cornish Shores.

Our team of chefs led by a head chef John Fish pride themselves on using locally sourced fresh foods. Be it from the boats at Newlyn Harbour, cuts from our local butcher or fresh seasonal produce.

Forget any pretence, good food means good ingredients made into a dish worth eating.

By the beach, great views, good food & drinks and Cornish hospitality

it's that simple.

Merrymoor never disappoints- breakfasts are amassing staff friendly and accommodating- fabulous views from the terrace too

September 2023

We had a meal at the Merrymoor inn and the food is delicious. On booking they were really helpful in finding us a time to come even though extremely busy. Our waitress on the night was very professional and service was very smooth, we weren’t waiting ages for our food . Definitely returning next year but will book ahead.

Meandering around the South West coast of England is a whopping 630 miles of incredible scenery, ripe for exploring on a dedicated footpath. As the longest National Trail in the UK, the South West Coast Path runs from Minehead in Somerset, along the Devon and Cornwall coast, and all the way to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Sections of the path make for delightful afternoon strolls, or you can be more adventurous and head out on a longer mission. It’s a wonderful way to explore the heritage, wildlife, geology and scenery in Cornwall and the South West, bringing you up close and personal with the natural beauty of the area.

Walking the coast path is the main reason we come to Cornwall. You can access the path directly from Dolphins Leap to Bedruthan Steps and beyond in one direction and Watergate Bay and beyond in the other direction. Boscastle to Tintagel is a wonderful walk.

The most expensive attraction we’ve done in Cornwall. Our children aged between 14 to 6 all enjoy it and will happily spend all day there. It’s a good but expensive day out.

Our stay was lovely, with the cottage providing great base and sanctuary after a day on the wind swept coast. The cottage location is perfect for that part of the north coast.
