The village is rich in heritage, with a network of cute narrow streets flanked with granite and thatched cottages that are quintessentially Cornish. Our self-catering cottages in Crantock are ideally placed for those wishing to explore all that North Cornwall has to offer.</p> <p>From your cottage doorstep a short stroll will take you to two charming village pubs, two local tea rooms and a local convenience store for all those essential picnic supplies! Located at the heart of the village, on opposite sides of the street, both pubs offer a great selection of food and ales, all served with characteristic Cornish hospitality.</p> <p>Crantock has a lot to explore, and for many visitors top of the list will be a visit to the splendid Crantock beach, with its soft golden sands, dramatic turquoise surf and rugged sand dunes. The beach area provides excellent facilities, including parking, toilets and a caf&eacute; &ndash; serving hot and cold snacks and of course the all-essential Cornish Cream Tea.</p> <p>With the dramatic surf that is so often present on this stretch of coastline, many visitors will wish to enjoy some of the local water sports activities on offer, with surf boards and canoes both available for hire from the beachfront. The local surf school also provides beginners lessons for paddle-boarding, body-boarding and surfing.</p> <p>For the more energetic, the rugged coastline offers some delightful walks, including access across the headland to the south to the isolated and unspoilt beach of Porth Joke. This sandy cove has remained untouched for centuries, and provides an excellent peaceful family destination for exploring the many rock pools. The local countryside is all managed by the National Trust, including the local West Pentire Headland, which is home to a variety of rare plants and flowers.</p> <p>A holiday home in Crantock is a one stop shop for indulging in the North Cornish lifestyle, and with Newquay just under two miles away, the scope for a holiday adventure is boundless.</p>
