My day out: Looe Monkey Sanctuary
On a lovely sunny day in April, it was my turn to choose the destination for a day out with my nephew and younger siblings, somewhere we hadn’t visited before and would be entertaining for a slightly younger audience. I decided on the Monkey Sanctuary, so we packed up the car and off to Looe we went.
I had spoken to a few people who had visited before, and overall everyone had a good experience, so I was very much looking forward to our family outing. My nephew loved seeing all the monkeys, but there was so much else to see as well which I wasn’t expecting. There was face painting, monkey presentations, a children’s park to play in, and plenty go benches to sit and enjoy the views of the sanctuary.
This day out is very much suited to a family with younger children, which was perfect for us on this trip. I would recommend Looe Monkey Sanctuary to anyone visiting the area at a great day out with children in Cornwall.
Top tips for visiting Looe Monkey Sanctuary:
- There is plenty of parking onsite.
- There’s only a little shop which sells gifts, drinks and snacks – so it’s a good idea to pack a picnic for refreshments.
- Once you have paid the entry fee, you are able to return again for free throughout the year.
