Bonfire night in Cornwall

Remember, remember the fifth of November… 

Grab your favourite hat and scarf to wrap-up warm, and head to one of Cornwall’s amazing firework displays. With celebrations in nearly every town, some even on the beach, you’ll have plenty to choose from. Here is our round-up of the best bonfire night extravaganzas:

Bodmin

One of Cornwall’s largest and most spectacular firework displays is held in Bodmin’s Football Field, Priory Park.

Local schools take part in ‘The Best Guy’ competition, celebrating bonfire night origins. There is also live music, a funfair and food stalls, with all proceeds from the evening going to local charities.

Bude

Bonfire night fireworks in Bude are held at the rugby club, where they host a celebration evening with a great family atmosphere. Mulled wine is available at the bar and there’s a BBQ serving hot food to warm attendees up on a chilly evening.

Callington

Ginster’s Firework Spectacular is held at Callington Community College, a free family event with with fireworks, live music and food stalls.

Falmouth

Enjoy the fantastic grand fire work display put on by the local fire brigade at Falmouth Cricket Club. If you’re at all worried about safety this will be the one to attend. 

Godrevy

Godrevy holds a fantastic fireworks and bonfire display. No tickets required, but donations are welcome, with 10% donated to RNLI to keep our Cornish coast safe.

Polperro

Polperro harbour hosts a popular firework display against the stunning Peak Rock backdrop. There is a BBQ available on the quay, and a bonfire is lit on the beach with children taking part in a Guy Fawkes competition.

Port Isaac

Port Issac’s beach holds a fantastic bonfire and fireworks evening, with Port Gaverne Hotel providing a great viewing spot and hospitality, with a hog roast, bar and free toffee apples for the kids.

Trevone Beach

Watch the fireworks and the huge bonfire on Trevone Beach, Padstow. The Well Parc pub and hotel also puts on a BBQ and live entertainment.

Truro

Truro’s bonfire night fireworks display is held at Tremorvah Playing Field. Previous years have attracted over 1,000 people, with the event also containing one of the county’s largest bonfires.

Watergate Bay

Organised by WAX Bar & Kitchen, Watergate Bay is lit up by a professional firework display. 

In addition to the phenomenal firework display, there’s live music, a raffle and BMX demonstrations.
