Dog-friendly pubs in Cornwall

After a nice long dog walk on the beach or along the South West Coast Path, there’s nowhere more suitable to enjoy a refreshing drink that in a traditional Cornish pub. Whilst most of our pubs are dog-friendly, we’ve picked our favourites to frequent with your dog still in tow.

The Seaview Inn

A traditional Cornish pub located right in the heart of Falmouth town, The Seaview Inn commands spectacular views of the Fal Estuary where you can soak up Falmouth’s maritime atmosphere. Watch ships sail past as you enjoy a pint of Cornish ale or a glass of wine, and absorb nautical surroundings of this harbour town.

The Old Coastguard

Located in the fishing village of Mousehole is the seaside hotel, The Old Coastguard. Pull up a stool at ‘Bar Humbug’, where you can admire the beautiful natural wooden decor and enjoy the fantastic selection of beers, wines and brandies. It’s beautiful location high up above the sea is a unique feature, and they’ve been sure to create a bar that does it justice.

The Port William

Situated in a magnificent location above Trebarwith Strand beach is The Port William, a nautical pub serving fresh local produce and boasts a fine selection of wines, spirits and real ales. The secluded cove below is fun to explore with dogs, so you can work up an appetite for a bar snack before heading back to your holiday cottage.

The Oystercatcher

Perched at the top of a hill overlooking the popular surfing sub-capital of Polzeath you’ll find The Oystercatcher pub, providing an abundance of outdoor seating and car parking where you can watch the surfers, and admire the sun setting over the Atlantic ocean.

Blue Peter Inn

Popular with locals as well as holidaymakers, the Blue Peter Inn is a very cosy traditional pub with a reputation for live music and delicious food. This award-winning pub is the perfect place to take in the picturesque surroundings of Polperro harbour on the south coast of Cornwall.

The Pandora Inn

This unique pub in Mylor is something else. It’s a 13th century thatched building with traditional beams, and has a terrace that sits on the stunning Restronguet Creek, complete withs a pontoon where you can moor up your own boat – perfect for little trips from neighbouring Falmouth harbour.
