St Mawgan

St Mawgan

Close to Newquay airport but hidden in a stunning valley, St Mawgan has to be one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall.  The village shop offers home cooked pasties and a wide range of delicious goods for you to enjoy.  Paddle your feet on a warm summer’s day in the beautiful trickling ford. Rather unusually, a bonsai nursery is situated here as well which is well worth a visit.

Walk beside the River Menalhyl which flows through a shady woodland walkway – remember your wellingtons though as it can get a bit muddy, and waterproofs may also be a good idea if your dog enjoys the water. The summer months bring this walk to life with the area blooming in wildflowers and the scent of wild garlic strong in the air.

Visit the Falcon Inn for a pint of delicious real ale, some good food and a friendly Cornish welcome.  With a large beer garden in beautiful surroundings, this is the perfect retreat to sit and relax in.
