Only 200 yards from the beach with magnificent sea and coastal views, this charmingly decorated semi-detached double-glazed Victorian house is set above the coast road, in the unspoilt village of Downderry.
Approached by a flight of walled and gated steps that lead directly up from the road, there is a delightful paved and flower filled sun terrace overlooking the sea. The front door opens to a long hallway and to one side is a light and airy sitting room dominated by a bay window with stunning panoramic sea views. At the further end of the hall is a games room/childrens bedroom with 3ft pine bunk beds, casual seating and a selection of games equipment.
In an extension to the original house at the rear, there is an L shaped fitted kitchen with a tiled floor and a wide open arch leading to a bright breakfast room with pine dining table and French doors to a small service courtyard. Stairs lead up from the hall to a half landing and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath.
Half a dozen steps then continue up to the first floor and two pleasant bedrooms; a master bedroom with a 6ft bed and wonderful sea views from a large bay window and the other bedroom at the rear has two single beds and painted wooden floorboards. A second flight of carpeted stairs continue up to the top floor and a spacious bedroom with a double and single bed, stunning sea views from two large dormer windows and an en-suite bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and shower cubicle.
At the rear of the property, a gated flight of 30 railed steps lead up to the elevated garden built into the hillside with a terraced lawn and childrens playhouse, and 10 further steps up to a gravel patio which enjoys a birds eye view over the rooftops to the sea. Young children will require supervision. There is unrestricted parking on the road outside and all the village amenities including a car park, shop/P.O., pub, café and restaurant are just a five minute walk.
The beach is a couple of minutes walk downhill as is the South West Coast Path. Seaton, 1 mile west, has an excellent beach cafe and a lovely two mile nature walk through Seaton Valley Countryside Park. Crafthole Reservoir has coarse fishing 3 miles away and there are golf courses nearby at Looe and Portwrinkle. Diving is available at the artificial diving reef, Scylla, in Whitsand Bay and a selection of boat trips depart from the harbour in Looe, 8 miles.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
- Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
- A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
- Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
- 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.
All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.
Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.
Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.

- Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
- 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
- 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
- 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
