There is a post office and traditional 17th century pub at St Minver, three quarters of a mile away.  The nearest local shops are at Rock about one mile and there is a pub with family restaurant at Pityme approximately a 5 minute walk. Rock beach is about 1.5 miles away, and has a sandy beach, sailing and water ski facilities and a foot ferry operating to Padstow, and the surfing beach at Polzeath is just under 3 miles by road or a 30 minute walk across the fields. The attractive fishing village of Port Isaac is within a ten minute drive, as is the shopping town of Wadebridge with a leisure centre, cinema and bicycle hire. The Camel Trail, ideal for walkers and cyclists, and several golf courses including Roserrow and St Enodoc are all close by.
