Please note: Go to the Friends of Heligan website for details on special rates for annual passes. Also valid at Kew Gardens. Departure time for this property is 10am.
Set within the extensive grounds of the renowned Lost Gardens of Heligan and just over a mile from the sea, The Clock House is part of the stable block belonging to the Manor House, forming one side of a cobbled courtyard in the private section of the estate. Furnished to a high standard yet retaining many of the 18th century period features with high ceilings, large sash windows and the original slate-hung clock tower restored to working order with the preserved weather vane.
Entered from the courtyard where there is parking for two cars, the property is fronted by a small patio garden with a path and one step leading up to the wide front doorway which opens to an entrance lobby. An inner glazed door opens into a carpeted hallway leading to a cloakroom W.C. with hand basin and a modern style kitchen with smart fitted units. At the far end of the hall, a door opens to a delightful living room with a dining area on the lower level and two steps leading up through a wide archway to the adjoining sitting room with a comfortable three-piece suite and windows overlooking the courtyard.
A carpeted staircase winds up from the hall to the first floor landing where there are a bathroom W.C. with wash basin and corner bath with hand shower attachment and three pleasant bedrooms with views of the manor house, courtyard and grounds. There is a master bedroom with a cast iron 5-foot bed and an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin and two further bedrooms, each with zip-linked twin beds which can be joined to create a 6ft double. There are wall mounted electric convector heaters in all bedrooms.
It is a short walk to the entrance of The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the largest garden restoration project in Europe with over 80 acres of gardens. The award winning Lobbs farm shop is also a short walk and the acclaimed Eden Project is about a 30 minute drive. The nearby villages of St Ewe and Pentewan, approx 1.5 miles respectively, have pubs offering food and the traditional fishing village of Mevagissey is just over 2 miles away with a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs and a seasonal ferry operating from the harbour to Fowey. Just beyond Mevagissey, the small cove of Portmellon has a shingly beach and the popular family beach at Gorran Haven with safe bathing is about a ten minute drive.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.
Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:
How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’
A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).
Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
