A peaceful newly renovated single storey barn conversion perfectly situated for those who wish to get away from it all, in a lovely unspoilt area of Bodmin Moor that has panoramic views of Alex Tor and Roughtor.
Set at the end of the owners private farm lane in an area of outstanding natural beauty with an abundance of birds and wildlife, the property is double glazed and centrally heated providing warm and cosy accommodation all year round. Approached from the gravel parking area, a gated path leads through the enclosed garden to the stable front door which opens to a delightful open plan living room converted from a 19th century milking parlour.
Furnished to a high standard, the ceiling rises to the apex of the roof with exposed cross beams. There is a smartly fitted kitchen area, a small dining suite and comfortable lounge seating before a wood burning stove. The sofa bed offers an alternative to the sleeping arrangements and there are lovely views of the moor and surrounding countryside from all the windows.
An inner hallway and one step leads down to a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath, and at the end of the hall, one step continues down to an attractive double bedroom with reclaimed pine furniture. Two skylight windows allow visitors to watch the stars at night.
At the front of the property there is a sheltered patio area and 4 steps leading down to a walled and gated lawned garden with a granite topped table and tranquil views of the surrounding countryside. Pets are welcome but dogs will need to be kept under control as the neighbouring fields may sometimes contain livestock.
The moorland village of St Breward is 3 miles away where there is a shop, church and traditional pub, and the town of Camelford with a selection of local shops, pubs and a leisure centre is about a 10 minute drive. Swallow Barn is conveniently located for the beaches and cliff paths on both the North and South coasts which can be reached in half an hour by car as well as the Eden Project. Locally there are excellent walks, fishing, and pony trekking available, and the property is also situated along the National Cycle Route. Lanhydrock House at Bodmin is within easy reach.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
- Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
- A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
- Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
- 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.
All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.
Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.
Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Prices for short breaks are as follows:
- Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
- 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
- 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
- 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
