A spacious and comfortable double-glazed detached 18th century family house set to one side of a small green in the quiet, picturesque village of Chapel Amble within easy reach of the Camel Estuary and the spectacular North Atlantic coastline.
Entered from the walled and gated courtyard to the rear of the house, a stable door set beneath a porch roof opens to a slate floored lobby with an adjacent farmhouse style kitchen with painted fitted units and a double oven. To one side of the lobby there is a utility room with cloaks area leading through to a beamed snug room/play room with casual seating and beyond is a ground floor shower room W.C. with hand basin.
The original central hallway leads to a pleasant dining room on one side with a refectory table and patio doors opening to the sheltered garden, and on the opposite side is a warm and cosy sitting room with an attractive fireplace and views of the garden from a bay window.
From the hallway, carpeted stairs lead up to a half landing and a twin bedded room, then continue up to the top landing, a bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and shower cubicle, and four light and airy bedrooms. There is a master king-size, a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a family room with a double and a single bed, all with views of the surrounding countryside. Young children and the elderly will need to take care in the house, as there are some low doorways and slight changes in level.
The enclosed garden, which encompasses the house, has a slate paved courtyard, small lawn, patio area and a useful shed for undercover drying and storage of beach gear. There is unrestricted parking around the green and also a free village car park 50 yards away.
There is a village store/PO and a charming pub within a 2 minute walk and the town of Wadebridge, 2 miles, has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. A neighbouring farm complex less than ¼ of a mile away has a leisure centre open all year round to non-residents offering a heated indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, Jacuzzi, sauna and play barn.
The surfing beaches at Daymer Bay and Polzeath and the sailing centre at Rock are all within a 15 minute drive as are the fishing villages of Padstow and Port Isaac. There is also horse riding and golf courses at St Enodoc, Roserrow and St Kew all nearby.
Please note: Bed Linen and Towels are not available.

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’
A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
- Excellent
- Good
- Satisfactory

- Poor
Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
- Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
- A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
- Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
- 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.
All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.
Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.
Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Prices for short breaks are as follows:
- Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
- 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
- 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
- 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
