ParkingA cosy 18th century traditional fishermans cottage with accommodation on three floors, situated in a quiet cobbled courtyard in the older part of Mevagissey just one hundred yards from the picturesque harbour, pubs, shops and restaurants.
The front door opens into the ground floor hallway of the original net loft with a door to an adjacent bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath. At the end of the hall is an open plan, well equipped kitchen / dining room with ceramic tile floor, low board and beam ceilings and some of the original granite walling exposed.
Narrow open tread stairs lead directly up from the kitchen area to an attractive beamed sitting room with comfortable furniture arranged before the recently restored fireplace built from reclaimed bricks originating from the 18th century Dovecot at the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
There is a pretty beamed double bedded room on this floor and at the further end of the sitting room a door opens to a winding stairway leading up to a long galleried attic room set into the apex of the roof with a double glazed dormer window set into the sloping walls and three 3ft single beds.
There are electric thermostatically controlled convector heaters in every room. It is possible to unload at the entrance to the courtyard and a weekly car parking pass is provided for the main public car park, 5 minutes walk.
There are pleasure boat and fishing trips departing from the harbour as well as a ferry to Fowey and a wealth of picturesque coastal walks nearby. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are approximately 3 miles and the Eden Project a 20 minute drive.
Please note: Towels are available at £2 per person per week payable on arrival.
