Property Details

With wonderful sea views overlooking Looe Bay, this first floor self contained apartment is set in a quiet elevated position at the rear of the owners timber clad detached house, just five minutes walk from the sea and beach.

Entered from the parking area below the property where there is space for one medium size car, a flight of 40 external steps lead up through the owners mature landscaped garden to the entrance at the rear.

From here, a half glazed door opens directly into a neatly fitted kitchenette with a Belfast sink, an electric two ring hob and small oven/grill. Leading off to one side, an inner door opens to a cosy open plan living room with a high beamed ceiling, a comfortable settee and drop leaf dining suite, and a bay window with stunning views of the sea and coastline. A wide archway at the far end leads to a double bedroom with a hand basin and fine sea views over the bay, and an en-suite shower room W.C.

At the rear of the property, a flight of 20 steps continue up the hillside to a sloping lawned garden for the sole use of the visitors, with a wooden sun deck to take full advantage of the panoramic sea views towards Looe Island and beyond. The villages of Downderry to the east and Seaton to the west both have a local shop, pub, restaurant and south facing beach of sand and pebbles, and are about 500 yards respectively.

For a wider selection of amenities, the market town of Liskeard is a 15 minute drive and has supermarkets and a leisure centre with swimming pool. The picturesque harbour village of Looe, 7 miles, offers pleasure boat and fishing trips from the quayside and there is also coarse fishing available nearby at Crafthole and Bake Lakes.

The cliff top golf course at Portwrinkle is 5 miles and it is also just a short drive to the magnificent houses and gardens of Mount Edgcumbe and Antony House. The South West Coast Path enjoys wonderful views along Whitsand Bay to Rame Head, and there are woodland walks inland through the Seaton Valley Countryside Park. A community bus service operates within the local area.
