With inverted accommodation and extensive open views of Kensey Valley, this recently converted detached stone barn was originally a milking parlour and hayloft. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and only four miles from the mediaeval walled town of Launceston, this is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and the beaches of the North Coast.
Approached from the gated parking area, four steps lead up to the front door which opens to an entrance hall with a separate bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath. Four steps lead up from the hall to an indoor games room at the rear.
There are four ground floor bedrooms, two twin bedded rooms, a 5ft kingsize double bedroom with an en-suite shower room W.C. and hand basin, and the fourth bedroom has a zip linked 6ft superking bed with an en-suite bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower cubicle. Three of the bedrooms enjoy views over the unspoilt countryside.
Stairs from the entrance hall lead up to an open plan living room which comprises the whole of the upper floor with a light and airy decor, exposed beams and laminate wood flooring. There is a farmhouse style fitted kitchen, a dining area, comfortable furniture arranged before full length windows and at the far end a door opens to external steps which lead down to the front of the property and a paved sitting out area.
Dogs will need to be under strict control since sheep, free range poultry and horses are kept nearby. Stabling and grazing for horses with the use of an outdoor sand school is available by prior arrangement.
There are several village pubs within a short drive, Launceston has a good selection of shops and is 10 minutes by car, and the nearest beach is at Crackington Haven 20 minutes away. Trethorne Leisure Farm offers all weather activities and the Hidden Valley Discovery Park has adventure nature trails, both are within the immediate vicinity.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
- Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
- A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
- Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
- 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.
All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.
Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.
Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Prices for short breaks are as follows:
- Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
- 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
- 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
- 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
