The seasonal 17^th century Rising Sun Inn is close by and is just a moment’s walk from the coastal footpath and the small sand and shingle beach with a slipway available for launching boats.  Mevagissey, half a mile, has a selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants and there are boat trips and a summer ferry service to Fowey departing from the working fishing harbour. 

There are lovely scenic walks along the coast around Chapel Point to Gorran Haven, and for garden lovers, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays, Trewithen and The Eden Project are all within easy reach.  The nearest large town is St Austell, a 15 minute drive which has a wide selection of amenities and the cathedral city of Truro is about 15 miles away.
