Travel CotSet in the heart of the historic nautical town of Falmouth, this 18th century, double-fronted, old mariners cottage has been recently renovated yet retains much of its original charm and character and is comfortably furnished to provide a good central base for family holidays.
Entered through a small, fenced and gated courtyard garden, the front door opens to a central slate floored hallway with the original panelled walls and some low doorways. To the right of the hall is a charming living room with a beamed ceiling, colourful rugs on the slate tiled floor, a rustic dining suite and lounge seating arranged before the period fireplace.
On the opposite side there is a beamed kitchen with fitted units and a window overlooking the little patio garden, and at the rear of the hall is a small recessed utility area with laundry facilities and a bathroom WC with hand basin and short bath.
Carpeted stairs wind up to the first floor landing, a shower room with hand basin, separate cloakroom W.C. and three cottage style bedrooms with high ceilings and wooden sash windows. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with an oblique glimpse of the estuary, there is a smaller twin bedded room at the rear, and the third room has a single bed. There is a private off road parking space for one car about 20 yards away.
The property is within a 5 minute walk of the town centre with an abundance of shops, pubs, and restaurants and just 150 yards to the quayside which offers many marine based activities. There is a choice of four beautiful beaches within walking distance, the nearest being a 10 minute walk, all with sands and rock pools. Ferries depart from the pier to Flushing and St Mawes, and there are also boat trips operating to Truro and the Helford River. Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum are within easy reach on foot, and the gardens of Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick are about a 15 minute drive.
