Please note: Dogs only please
With spectacular views across the harbour to Fowey, this spacious and comfortable, detached family house and gardens is set in an elevated position about 500 yards up the hill from the quayside in the charming old sea faring village of Polruan.
Benefiting from off street parking for 2 cars which is unusual in the village, the property is entered via a few steps and a path which leads up to the entrance at the rear. The back door opens directly into a modern, newly fitted kitchen/breakfast room with a range cooker, and an inner door leads to a delightful 40ft living room running along the front of the house with lovely views of the garden and the Fowey Estuary from tall sash windows.
On one side, comfortable lounge seating is arranged before the stone fireplace with a living flame gas fire, and on the opposite side, there is a spacious dining area with table and chairs.
A carpeted staircase leads up from the dining area to the first floor landing where there are a recently upgraded bathroom W.C. with hand basin and three light and airy bedrooms all with views of the River Fowey. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin, a twin bedded room, and the third smaller bedroom has bunk beds.
The well kept garden which extends around two sides of the house has a terrace with glorious views of the estuary and a sloping lawn – pets and young children will need to be supervised as the grounds are not totally secure. At the rear of the house is an external laundry room and a useful outside W.C..
It is less than a 5 minute walk down the steep hill to the quayside where there are a small selection of shops, two traditional pubs and a regular passenger ferry which operates to Fowey with a wider selection of amenities. Fowey can also be reached by car ferry from Bodinnick which is a short drive.
The nearest small beach is at Readymoney Cove on the Fowey side of the river, or alternatively, Lantic and Lantivet Bays have sheltered coves about a 10 minute drive away however access is via a steep path. The historic Hall Walk follows the wooded banks of Pont Creek to Bodinnick and the South West Coast Path offers excellent walking and coastal views to Pencarrow Head. Polperro is 5 miles and Looe about 9 miles.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:
How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’
A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).
Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
