Within 15 minutes of the sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand
and with magnificent views over unspoilt countryside, this peaceful
double-glazed cottage adjoining the original farmhouse offers an ideal rural
retreat set on the owners smallholding to one side of a quiet country lane in
the farming hamlet of Moorgate.
Situated on the western edge of Bodmin Moor, this area of outstanding natural beauty is excellent for walkers but also provides a good base from which to explore the fishing villages of Port Isaac and Boscastle, and the Camel Estuary.”
Entered from the parking area where there are two spaces, the outer front door leads into a useful entrance porch with a tiled floor and coat pegs on the wall and an inner door opening to a long hallway. Leading off to one side is a warm and cosy sitting room with a beamed ceiling and comfortable seating arranged before the large granite hearth.
At the rear of the property is a spacious fully fitted kitchen / dining room with an oil fired Rayburn for cooking, central heating and hot water, supplemented by an electric cooker. A fully glazed door leads out to a bright and sunny garden room with a conservatory style suite and views over the garden to rolling farmland beyond.
From the hallway a carpeted staircase leads up to the first floor landing and to one side, a bedroom with two zip-linked beds giving the option of a 5ft double or 2ft 6in twin beds and an en-suite shower room W.C. and hand basin. On the opposite side of the landing, one step leads up to the master bedroom with a 5ft double bed, panoramic views over lovely open countryside and an adjacent bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath.
To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden with a gravel terrace, small decking and little area of lawn all enjoying tranquil views over the neighbouring fields towards the coastline.
Camelford, 1.5 miles, has a range of local shops, pubs and a sports centre with swimming pool and the beach at Trebarwith Strand is about 7 miles. Walking and birdwatching are in abundance within the immediate vicinity including footpaths to Advent Church, the summit of Roughtor and Crowdy Reservoir with picnic sites. Boscastle and Tintagel are about a 15 minute drive and there are riding stables, fishing and several golf courses close by.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
