Just a five minute drive from the Eden Project and lovely sandy beaches on the South Coast, this spacious detached cottage with a pretty landscaped garden is set in the quiet village of Tregrehan Mills adjacent to the local playing field with views to farmland beyond.
Dating back nearly 200 years, the comfortable and carefully restored accommodation retains great character with exposed beams, low doorways, painted stone walls and several changes in level. Approached from the driveway where there is parking for two cars, the front door opens to an entrance hall with one step leading up to a utility room with W.C.
To one side, a door opens to a breakfast area with two steps leading up to a beamed kitchen with rustic fitted units, a walk-in pantry and an oil fired Aga for cooking, background heat and hot water. This is also supplemented by a combination microwave oven/grill. An adjoining dining room has a window overlooking the rear garden, and to complete the ground floor accommodation, a warm and cosy beamed sitting room has lounge seating facing a decorative granite hearth and also overlooks the mature garden.
Rather narrow cottage stairs lead up from the sitting room to a landing, four bedrooms and a bathroom with hand basin, shower over the bath and W.C. There is also a separate WC with hand basin and airing cupboard. There is a pine furnished double and a single bedded room on one side, two steps then continue up to a further single bedroom and a master double with a peaceful view of the garden.
A rear porch leads out from the dining room to a delightful, enclosed garden with a sheltered patio, several lawns, a secluded decking and a netted pond; there is also a gate to the driveway.
There is a post office store in Bethel just over a mile away and The Britannia Inn is half a mile away. St Austell, 2 miles, has a range of shops and facilities including a sports centre, swimming pool and bowling alley. The beaches of Porthpean, Par Sands and Polkerris are very close by and a local bus service operates to St Austell and the Eden Project. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are within a 30 minute drive as are the harbour villages of Charlestown, Mevagissey and Fowey and there are two golf courses nearby.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
