A picturesque, very traditional, comfortable detached house in an unspoilt little creekside hamlet on a tributary of the Fowey river. The original Mill House for the unrestored mill on the edge of the stream it is set into sloping ground and entered at first floor level reached from the parking area by an uneven granite and cobbled path that crosses the unused mill leat at one point.
The stable door set beneath a slate roof opens into a hallway with cloaks area to one side. This delightful house has low beamed ceilings, latch doors and interesting alternatives to vertical walls! The sitting room set to one side of the hall is comfortably furnished with the original fireplace and views from the window and window seat down over the front lawn to the stream.
On the other side of the hall a beamed kitchen / dining room has similar views, country pine furniture and pine units. There is one bedroom on this level with a 2ft 6inch single bed.
Rather steep stairs lead up to a landing with two further bedrooms, both very spacious, beamed and with views across the valley and down the creek, one with a double bed and hand basin, the other with two 3ft beds and one 2ft 6inch bed and a hand basin. A bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath completes the accommodation.
A grassy garden, with useful outside W.C., surrounds the house, edged by the river along one side and not a place for unsupervised toddlers or young children but a delight for older ones. There is off road parking for 3 vehicles with further parking on the private grass verge adjacent to the property. There is a little bridge crossing over Penpoll Creek where it is possible to launch canoes and small dinghies at high tide, 25 yards away. One pet only accepted.
Please note: Bed linen is available at £14 per double & £7 per single per week to be paid on arrival. Towels are not available.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
