A half glazed door from the kitchen leads out to a large enclosed garden at the rear with a picnic table on the patio, a level lawn looking out over the unspoilt countryside and a side gate leading to the front drive.  The village has a pub, garage and small shop all two minutes walk away and there are traditional pubs in the nearby villages of Manaccan and Mawgan,2 miles respectively.  A local bus service links with the market town of Helston,7 miles.  Lizard Point with the oldest and most southerly mainland lighthouse is approx 9 miles away and Trelowarren Estate and Gardens nearby has a woodland walk open to the public Apr – Sep and there is also a restaurant and art gallery in Trelowarren House.
