A wonderful base for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts to explore the beauty of Bodmin Moor rich in historical sites and country pursuits yet also within a 30 minute drive of the lovely south coast beaches, Jupiter Lodge is one of four recently built detached lodges surrounded by peaceful countryside

The lodge has been furnished to a high standard with double glazing, offering comfortable and well equipped accommodation with panoramic views over rolling hills towards Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor National Park. 

Approached from the gravel parking area to the side of the property with space for 3 cars, a gently sloping path leads up to a covered porch and the front door which opens directly into a light open plan living room with a laminate wood floor.  There is a well equipped, fully fitted kitchen with an island unit, a smart dining suite and leather lounge seating next to French Windows that lead to the front paved patio with views over open countryside towards Kit Hill

At the rear, an inner lobby gives access to a double bedroom with an en-suite wet room with shower W.C. and hand basin, and a smaller bedroom with metal framed 3ft bunk beds

Carpeted stairs lead up from the lounge to the first floor landing where there are a family bathroom W.C. with hand basin and two pleasantly furnished bedrooms; a twin bedded room at the rear, and the master bedroom with a 5ft double bed, panoramic views from a railed balcony of the surrounding countryside and an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin. 

To the front, there is a sheltered sun terrace and guests are welcome to use part of the adjacent 2 acre paddock with its own Cornish stone circle, ideal for older children to play.

The nearest pubs are 1.5 miles away at Rilla Mill and Upton Cross, the latter also has a post office store, and there is a good farm shop at Pensilva about a 10 minute drive.  The market town of Liskeard is 15 minutes by car and has a full range of shops, pubs and a leisure centre with swimming pool.  Siblyback Lake, 6 miles, offers angling and a water sports centre, and salmon and trout fishing are available on several local rivers (permits can be prearranged direct with the keyholder). 

There are also numerous walks, riding stables, clay pigeon shooting (professional tuition available) and a variety of golf courses including St Mellion within easy reach.  The NT house at Cotehele and the sandy beaches of Looe and Seaton are a 30 minute drive respectively.  Onsite, there is a unique astronomical observatory currently under development during 2011 – for more details see www.caradonobservatory.co.uk.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests who have booked a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.
How to book

  1. Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
  2. A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
  3. Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
  4. 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

Some properties offer short breaks out of the high season periods. Short breaks cannot currently be booked online. Please phone us on 01208 821 666 to enquire about a short break.

Prices for short breaks are as follows:
  • Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
  • 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
  • 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
  • 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
Reservations
