Pentire Heights

Only a short walk from Fistral beach and a 20 minute walk from Newquay town centre, these two double glazed apartments are ideally situated in a small development just above the beach on the Pentire Headland, about a mile to the west of Newquay.  Surrounded by open lawned gardens and with a private car park with parking for one car per property, Headland View and Huers View are perfectly located for surfers, couples and families alike.  There is a local shop/P.O. and a pub with restaurant both half a mile away and the South West Coast Path is about a ten minute walk, as is a summer passenger ferry crossing the Gannel estuary to Crantock beach.  All of the holiday activities that Newquay town centre and harbour has to offer, including a waterworld leisure park, sealife centre and zoo are within easy reach.

With panoramic sea views over Fistral Beach, Towan Head and beyond to Watergate Bay, this recently built double-glazed ground floor apartment is set in the quieter area of Pentire, just over a mile to the west of Newquay and only a five minute walk down the hill to the world famous Fistral surfing beach.

Situated in a small exclusive development surrounded by open lawned gardens and approached from the parking area where there is a designated space for one car, a flight of shallow railed steps leads up to the central landscaped courtyard and a security entrance door opens to a private lobby.

From here the front door opens to a hallway and to one side is a delightful open-plan living room with a well equipped, smartly fitted galley kitchen with modern maple-effect units, a small dining suite and comfortable seating enjoying uninterrupted sea views across the sandy beach to the headland from French Windows that lead out to a communal lawned area.

On the opposite side of the hall, there is a small bedroom with two 3ft single beds and an oblique view of the beach, only suitable for children due to the size of the room and a family bathroom W.C. with wash basin and hand shower attachment to the bath.

To complete the stylish accommodation there is a master bedroom with a king size double bed, patio doors benefiting from stunning views across the beach, towards the headland and far out to sea and an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin.

There is a local shop/P.O. and a pub with restaurant both half a mile away and a nine hole pitch and putt golf course is close by. Pentire Point East is about a ten minute walk where a summer passenger ferry crosses the Gannel estuary to Crantock beach, tide permitting, and all of the holiday activities that Newquay town centre and harbour has to offer, including a waterworld leisure park, sealife centre and zoo are within easy reach.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests who have booked a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.
How to book

  1. Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
  2. A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
  3. Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
  4. 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

Some properties offer short breaks out of the high season periods. Short breaks cannot currently be booked online. Please phone us on 01208 821 666 to enquire about a short break.

Prices for short breaks are as follows:
  • Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
  • 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
  • 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
  • 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
