A traditional cottage with estuary views set about halfway down the steep lane leading to the harbour in the quaint old seafaring village of Polruan looking across the water at Fowey.
The front door opens directly from the street and half a dozen steps lead straight up to a small lobby and a charming sitting room with comfortable seating, an electric fire and lovely views down to the bustling rivermouth. Also on this level are a bright and spacious dining room and a fitted kitchen with an old decorative Cornish Range and a small breakfast area.
In one corner of the dining room, a door opens to a rear hall and carpeted stairs lead up to a landing, a compact bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and three bedrooms, all with low doorways. The main bedroom has a king size bed and views down the lane to the boats in the harbour, there is a small double bedroom overlooking the patio garden and a cosy bunk bedroom looking across to the wooden sundeck.
A stable door opens from the hall to a rear courtyard which is shared with one other cottage and has access steps leading down to a gated passageway opening to the village lane. Also from the courtyard, a dozen steps lead up to a decking with a picnic table and views of the Fowey River, a terraced patio with a summer house looking over the harbour and estuary, and a useful garden W.C. Pets and young children will require supervision outside as there are low walls. Parking is in the main village car park on St Saviours Hill about a 5 minute walk and there are two pubs, small shops and a tea room down on the quayside.
The foot ferry runs frequently across the harbour to Fowey which has a wider selection of shops, pubs and restaurants or alternatively a car ferry operates from Bodinnick. The nearest beaches are at Lansallos and Lantic Bay about a 10 minute drive or Readymoney Cove on the Fowey side of the river, and the area has a wealth of historical and coastal walks.
Please note: The village car park is about 5 minutes walk. A weekly car park ticket currently costs £25. Towels are not available. There is a charge for both passenger and car ferries to and from Fowey.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
