Set on a 200 acre family run working farm just one mile from Tintagel in a beautiful part of North Cornwall surrounded by lush green fields and within a stones throw of the dramatic coastline and its fine beaches.  Well placed for walkers and family holidays and within easy reach of all the amenities that the Atlantic coast offers, these three thoughtfully renovated properties offer a very convenient base from which to explore north and mid Cornwall. 

The area abounds with lovely walks across the fields to Bossiney Cove, down the hill to Rocky Valley, take the coastal path to Boscastle Harbour and Tintagel Castle, or through the woods to the mystical waterfall at St Nectans Glen.  Set in the tiny hamlet of Halgabron, Clifden Farm is just a mile from Tintagel, famous for its association with the legend of King Arthur, and 3 miles from the picturesque harbour at Boscastle, both with a selection of local shops. 

The nearest supermarket is in Camelford 5 miles away.  The immediate area is a haven for bird and wildlife enthusiasts and there are a wide choice of sandy beaches close by the nearest being Bossiney Cove, which has sand at low tide accessed via a fairly steep incline and the sandy surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand is less than a ten minute drive.  Dairylea & Dobbins Den are on two sides of a tarmac courtyard with a sizeable shared lawn area giving lots of space for children to play outdoors.  Peek-a-boo is about 70 yards away from the cottages.  Pets are welcome however as this is a working farm; dogs should be supervised at all times.

Thelarger of the two cottages sharing the same courtyard, this double glazed detachedstone barn was once the farm grain store and has been carefully converted toprovide comfortable family accommodation whilst retaining original features.  The front door opens to a small centralhallway with a pleasant sitting room on one side with a high beamed ceiling,lounge seating and an electric coal effect fire set on a hearth created from anoriginal mill stone.  Onthe opposite side, a farm style kitchen/dining room has a run of pine fittedunits and an inner hall leads to a ground floor shower room W.C. with handbasin and utility room, both of which can be accessed directly from the carport.  From the hallway, carpeted stairslead up to a sunny first floor landing with rural views from French Windows, abathroom W.C. with hand basin and three cottage style bedrooms.  There are two bedrooms at the front of theproperty with a double and twin beds respectively enjoying sea views on thehorizon towards long rock and a bunk bedded room at the rear with views overfarm land and surrounding countryside.  Withaccess from both the kitchen and external steps from the first floor landing,Dairylea benefits from its own enclosed rear garden with a private andsheltered patio with slate chippings and a raised lawn overlooking the adjacentfields.  The property has undercoverparking for one car with additional parking in the courtyard.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests who have booked a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.
How to book

  1. Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
  2. A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
  3. Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
  4. 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

Some properties offer short breaks out of the high season periods. Short breaks cannot currently be booked online. Please phone us on 01208 821 666 to enquire about a short break.

Prices for short breaks are as follows:
  • Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
  • 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
  • 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
  • 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
Reservations
