Less than 15 minutes by car from the beautiful fishing port of Looe and the South Coast beaches, this detached double glazed barn conversion with lovely country views is set in the peaceful rural hamlet of Trelowia

Built into sloping ground at the end of a long lane with a parking area for two cars, the front door opens directly into a long living room with painted stone walls, pine flooring and beams rising to the apex of the roof.  There is a comfortable seating area with an electric flicker flame fire set before a large picture window, a dining suite is arranged in the middle of the room and a fully fitted kitchen with double oven shares the rural views

To one side, a few steps lead up to a hallway with a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and a downstairs twin bedded room with a board and beam ceiling and a window overlooking the owners terrace.

Stairs from the hall lead up to two further bedrooms; a modest sized room with a double bed and the master bedroom with a 5ft double, an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin and a door opening to a small patio area.  There are two areas of lawned garden, one at each end of the property for the visitors sole use. 

There is an extensive local farm shop 3/4 of a mile along the country lane and the nearest newsagent/P.O./store is at No Man’s Land just over 2 miles away. Hessenford, 1.25 miles, has a delightful old Inn and there are a wealth of woodland walks following the tumbling river through the beautiful Seaton Valley.

The twin villages of Seaton and Downderry both with sandy beaches are approx 4 miles by road and for a larger selection of amenities the towns of Liskeard and Looe are a 15 minute drive respectively.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests who have booked a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.
How to book

  1. Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
  2. A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
  3. Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
  4. 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

Some properties offer short breaks out of the high season periods. Short breaks cannot currently be booked online. Please phone us on 01208 821 666 to enquire about a short break.

Prices for short breaks are as follows:
  • Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
  • 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
  • 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
  • 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
Reservations
