Nestling in the bottom of the lush Vale of Lanherne, two miles from the dramatic North Coastline, Chapel Cottage is one of two cottages on the site of the original Forge in the charming and picturesque village of St Mawgan. A couple of steps rise above the road and from here the front door opens into a light and airy open-plan living room, warm and comfortably furnished with full double glazing, an attractive fitted kitchen area in one corner and a pine dining suite set before French Windows opening out to a tiny enclosed patio with a side access gate. Carpeted stairs lead up to a landing, a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and two pine furnished bedrooms each with an electric convector heater. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds, a 3ft and a 2ft 6in. There is one reserved parking space per property immediately before the row of cottages and all the local amenities which include a village store, post office, tea room and pub are less than five minutes walk. Sheltering in the village is also the lovely Japanese Garden and Bonsai Nursery which is open all year round and the nearby beaches of Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are close at hand. The historic fishing port of Padstow is 8 miles and the holiday resort of Newquay is 6 miles away. Please note: Towels are available at £3.50 per person per week to be paid on arrival.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:
How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’
A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).
Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
