With lovely sea views and just a couple of minutes walk to the beach at Mawgan Porth, these two properties comprise the upper and lower floors of a detached house set at the end of a private road in the coastal hamlet of Trenance. Ideal for family holidays, a footpath leads down to the golden sands and the pub, cafe and local store at Mawgan Porth can be reached via a five minute walk along the beach.

Watergate Bay and the beauty spot at Bedruthan Steps are close by, and the holiday resorts of Newquay and Padstow are within a 20 minute drive respectively. There is a golf course and riding stables nearby and an abundance of coastal walks and woodland trails leading inland through the Lanherne Valley.

With lovely sea and coastal views, this spacious and comfortable accommodation is the complete upper floor of a recently extended detached house set in the small village of Trenance, ideal for family holidays and only a two minute walk to the large west facing sandy beach at Mawgan Porth. 

Entered from the parking area where there is space for two cars, a couple of steps and a sloping path lead down to the front door which opens to an entrance hallway.  Leading off the hall are a family bathroom W.C. with vanity basin and shower over the bath, an additional cloakroom W.C. and a spacious master bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin. 

A large sitting room has comfortable leather furniture overlooking the sea with doors leading to a twin bedded room and a newly fitted modern kitchen.  Accessed from both the lounge and kitchen, sliding patio doors and a couple of steps lead down to a conservatory which spans the width of the house with panoramic coastal views, a cane suite and a glass topped dining table. 

French Windows open from here to a long railed balcony on the seaward side with a spacious outdoor seating area at one end.  To complete the accommodation, a narrow staircase leads up to an attic bedroom with three single beds set under the sloping ceiling and beautiful sea views from a dormer window. 

The pub, cafe and local store at Mawgan Porth can be accessed via the beach or alternatively one mile by road, for surfing enthusiasts Watergate Bay is only three miles along the coast road and for a larger selection of amenities Newquay is six miles.  There are peaceful woodland walks through the Lanherne Valley leading inland and horse riding is available nearby.

Please note: Bed linen is available at £10 per double & £5 per single per week to be paid on arrival. Towels are available at £3.50 per person per week to be paid on arrival.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests who have booked a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.
How to book

  1. Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
  2. A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
  3. Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
  4. 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

Some properties offer short breaks out of the high season periods. Short breaks cannot currently be booked online. Please phone us on 01208 821 666 to enquire about a short break.

Prices for short breaks are as follows:
  • Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
  • 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
  • 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
  • 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
Reservations
