A mid-terrace extended 19th century Cornish stone cottage in the small village of Ludgvan just over two miles from the sandy beaches of Mounts Bay and only six miles from St Ives. Situated in an elevated position above the road and reached via a flight of walled steps, it offers a very convenient base for exploring the West Penwith peninsula.
A wooden gate at the top of the steps opens to a south-east facing, enclosed decking area with patio furniture and views of the surrounding countryside over neighbouring rooftops. The front door opens directly into a warm and comfortable sitting room with a board and beam ceiling and lounge furniture arranged before the stove set in the hearth, including a single sofa bed for alternative sleeping arrangements.
A curtained doorway at the rear of the cottage leads to a neatly fitted kitchen with an electric double oven, belfast sink, a pine dining suite and a window overlooking the courtyard. A little utility area leads to a fully tiled bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath, and a door from the hall opens to a small rear courtyard with a log store and bench seat enjoying rural views.
Rather steep carpeted stairs wind up from the kitchen to a tiny landing and to two pretty bedrooms, one very spacious with a 5ft kingsize bed and the other has a 2ft 6in single bed and a trundle bed stored beneath it. There are timer-controlled oil filled electric heaters in every room. It is possible to park on the road outside the cottage.
There are two pubs offering food within a ¼ of a mile and the nearest village shop/P.O. is in Crowlas ½ a mile away. St Michaels Mount and Marazion are about 2.5 miles and St Ives on the north coast, famed for its art galleries, is about 6 miles. Penzance is a few minutes drive and has a pleasant shopping centre, railway station and a ferry / heliport providing a regular service to the Isles of Scilly.

- Excellent
- Good
- Satisfactory

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
- Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
- A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
- Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
- 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.
All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.
Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.
Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Prices for short breaks are as follows:
- Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
- 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
- 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
- 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
