Bodrugan Farm

Bodrugan Farm is a large family run farm, extending along the coast from Portmellon to Gorran Haven. It is a mile from the fishing village of Mevagissey, the "Lost Gardens of Heligan" are close by and the Eden Project is within easy reach. Boats can be slipped at Portmellon and the bathing is safe. A secluded beach at Chapel Point can be reached by footpath through the fields. Old Walls and The Quillet have the use of the heated indoor swimming pool (10 x 4 x 1.2metres) open 8am to 8pm is available for year round use, and a sauna is available for a small charge. Beach towels are not provided in any of the properties. Pets are charged at £20.00 each payable direct to the owners on arrival.

A delightful detached cottage, sympathetically renovated in a pretty fenced and gated garden set in a sheltered and secluded valley, which runs down to the sea at Chapel Point. Well away from public roads it is reached through Bodrugan Farm by way of a gated farm lane which leads down to the parking area at one side. From the garden the front door opens into a large furnished conservatory then into the beamed living room which takes up the whole of the ground floor. At one end the kitchen / dining room has some fitted units and a large electric cooker with double oven. At the other end comfortable seating is grouped around an old open hearth with a log burning stove. Stairs lead up to a mid level where there is a very useful utility / entrance with sink and an adjacent W.C. and a bathroom with hand basin and separate shower cubicle. On the upper floor are two spacious bedrooms, each with its own short flight of stairs. One room has a 5ft double bed and hand basin, the other room has three single beds, both with character and views over the lush vegetation of the little valley. The cove at Chapel Point, 500 metres away can be reached by a public footpath which follows the stream and joins with the coastal path to Portmellon and Gorran Haven. There is ample space to park 2 cars and boat trailer.  Please note: Pets are charged at £20.00 each payable direct to the owner on arrival. Property is heated using log burning stove, two night storage heaters and portable electric heaters.  Wireless internet is available at Bodrugan Farm but not necessarily inside the property.

When a property shows 'sleeps' in the format X-Y, X equals the maximum number of adults that can comfortably be accommodated and Y indicates the maximum number of adults + children that can be comfortably accommodated in the property.

Our rating method, the popular "smiles" system is generated entirely by the feedback we receive from our visitors. The number of smiles is arrived at by taking the average grading given to the question:

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’

A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
  1. Excellent
  2. Good
  3. Satisfactory
  4. Below standard
  5. Poor
There are a number of properties that have been recently added to our portfolio and these are graded "New".
Pets

There is an extra charge for pets, most commonly at £18 pppw (per pet per week).

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.

Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% loyalty discount is available at some properties for guests who have booked a second or further holiday within 2 years through Cornish Traditional Cottages. If you are eligible for the Loyalty Discount your final balance payment will be reduced accordingly after your booking has been submitted. The Loyalty Discount cannot be claimed with any other discount.
How to book

  1. Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
  2. A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
  3. Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
  4. 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.

Pricing information

All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.

Definitions

Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.

Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Short breaks

Some properties offer short breaks out of the high season periods. Short breaks cannot currently be booked online. Please phone us on 01208 821 666 to enquire about a short break.

Prices for short breaks are as follows:
  • Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
  • 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
  • 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
  • 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
Reservations
