Set in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Boscastle just 150 yards from the National Trust harbour, Avonyow, meaning Riversmeet, is a double glazed ground floor apartment furnished to a high standard, one of six thoughtfully converted from a 200 year old grain store made of Cornish stone and slate.
Set back from the main road, a gated footpath leads to a stone archway, with the front door opening directly into a hallway with coat pegs on the wall and a slate tiled floor throughout.
The contemporary style accommodation comprises two comfortable well presented bedrooms with a double and twin beds respectively, a modern fully tiled bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath, and an attractive L shaped living room in a neutral decor. There are two comfortable leather settees, a glass topped dining suite in one corner, and a galley style kitchen with modern fitted units.
There is a little walled courtyard immediately in front of the property with a small bistro style table and chairs, and parking is in the main village car park 100 yards away.
Boscastle has a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants all within a short level walk, as are a village shop/P.O., bakers, pottery and gift shops. Tintagel, just under 4 miles, has a range of local shops and is also home to King Arthurs Great Halls and Medieval Castle. There are splendid cliff walks along the dramatic South West Coast Path including the beautiful Rocky Valley and St Nectans Glen, as well as lovely walks upstream along the wooded Valency Valley to St Juliot church restored by Thomas Hardy.
The nearest beaches are at Crackington Haven and Trebarwith Strand about 5 miles respectively and there is a local bus service that operates to Tintagel, Camelford, Wadebridge and Bude. There is a golf club and a leisure centre with swimming pool at Camelford, and riding stables nearby.
Please note: A weekly car park ticket currently costs £22.

How would you rate the cottage's fittings, furnishings and equipment?’
A property will achieve a rating of 5 Smiles down to 1 Smile, although it is our policy not to carry any properties with ratings lower than 3 Smiles. The customer chooses from the following ratings:
- Excellent
- Good
- Satisfactory
- Below standard
- Poor
Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all our cottages free of charge, however owners of them should be aware that a considerable number of people are allergic to dogs and in some cases can have a severe reaction. Owners are therefore encouraged, where at all possible, to choose a property which normally allows pets.
Some properties accept pets other than dogs, but in all cases we are required to confirm consent from the cottage owner. Please contact the office on 01208 821 666 if you would like to take a pet other than a dog with you to one of our cottages.
- Select the check box next to the week(s) you wish to book. Multiple weeks can only be booked consecutively. Non consecutive weeks must be booked separately.
- A summary of your booking will appear. To proceed with the booking select the 'Continue booking' button in the summary box. Deselect the weeks to remove the summary box.
- Weeks marked as 'Reserve' (highlighted in blue) cannot be booked at this point in time because availability and prices have not yet been agreed with the owner. You can reserve these weeks in your name until availability and pricing has been agreed. It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be confirmed in your name if the owner wishes to make the Reserved period available for booking.
- 'Reserved' weeks (as opposed to 'Reserve' weeks) can only be booked by a customer who has 'Reserved' the highlighted period.
All prices are per week per property. Many properties promote an all inclusive price although some charge for extras such as bed linen, towels, heating and/or electricity. The Property description will detail any extra charges.
Booked: A customer has committed to a holiday period by paying a deposit or the full amount for a rental period.
Reserved: When a property is not yet available to be booked, a customer can 'Reserve' the property in their name on a first come first served basis. When Cornish Traditional Cottages and the owner have agreed availability and pricing for your selected period we will contact you to let you know if you can then book the property in your name. A Reservation does not guarantee a booking because the owner has first right of refusal on all availability.
Prices for short breaks are as follows:
- Up to 3 nights: 62% of the weekly price
- 4 nights: 71.5% of the weekly price
- 5 nights: 91% of the weekly price
- 6 nights: 100% of the weekly price
It is important to note that a 'Reserved' period can only be booked if the owner wishes to make the 'Reserved' period available for booking. Upon completion of your reservation you will receive confirmation by email or post containing details of the reservation.
